trade in is 18K, retail is 25k, private is 22K. what should i aim for. i put the car in as excellent condition. do you think that it being orange affects resale? or helps it out?

I would stay away from pre-04 models because a substantial portion of them suffer from the infamous tire feathering.

One rule I abide by is that you NEVER pay more than the CarsDirect price for a new Z. I hate buying used because it seems the dealer uses more shady tactics when dealing with used cars.

you buy from dealer or private? try to bargain from 20K to 23K max.

its from a dealer. right now im debating whether or not sunset is a color i can have for years. i might just go with silverstone. so 20-23k?

i also just found out it is enthusiast cause it has steering wheel controls.

20-23 k sounds tough cause im in so cal, most are around the 25 range for an 04 with 20k miles

thanks for all your help everyone

19.5 sounds like an amazing deal.

should i offer 20k then? or is that just pushing it? a private seller is offering for $23,000 silverstone with 23k miles. 2004 enthusiast 6 speed.

a dealer is selling a 2005 enthusiast for $25k with 10k miles. 6 speed as well.

which is a better place to go, how much would i save privately over dealer? i know dealers arent willing to budge that much but a private seller might.
where should i go from here. sunset is now out of the question.

IMHO...push for the $19.5....the dealer will come down especially at this time of the year. Don't rush into anything...take your time and research more...also give the private seller guy an offer of $19.5. You never know..they all might come down to your asking price. Remenber your in the "driver's seat of bargaining" if you know what I mean. Again, DON'T RUSH!! There are a lot of Z's available for sale. As far as color goes for the '04's...no special added value! Good Luck!
