Question Offer What For 2007 350z?

Curious....

Being that this is a new car, how much should a person offer above or below MSRP for the new 2007 350z? I'm going to order mine, but I don't know what is reasonable. Arguing to purchase a 2007 350z at/or near invoice price I would imagine is, for instance, not reasonable? But offering to purchase it at MSRP may be?

haggle as much as you can. I don't see why you should pay more just because it just came out

What is the maximum price that you are willing to pay?

More than likely dealers will not budge much off the 07's, especially if they have leftover 06's!

I have a a 07 Grand Touring coming in Feb. for $ 750 over invoice.

I think it's a great deal considering it's the first shipment.

Also know that it's a replacement for the totaled 06, brought at the same dealer.

Don't even bother dealing with +/- below MSRP. Start at the invoice price from Edmunds. You should have no problem ordering one for 500 below invoice. That is what I was offered as a starting point when the 06s first came out. I waited and was able to get Invoice-Dealer Fees ($600). I also got $1000 on a worthless trade in, so I pretty much got the car for $1600 under invoice. I did my homework though and went to a couple other dealers and they could not give me what I wanted. Also, always start at the Internet Sales department and never seem giddy at wanting the car.

[Edit] Of course, you local market for the Z will have a big impact also.

After a few calls and about two interesting conversations among all of them, I was told that I could order a 2007 350z Roadster Touring for $35,000 but probably not get it less than that. To low or to high for a 2007 350z? Should I keep trying?

Buying an 07 now doesnt make sense, wait a little while for them to come out. Usually they go down in price.

A telephone conversation is not going to get you jack. Figure out the price of the 350Z that you want. Post the MSRP.

The price won't go down per se, but dealers will do more to make the sale as the year progresses. The 06s actually went up in price (invoice) as the model year went on.

I sell cars at a new car dealership (chevy...please don't throw things at me). I think it is always reasonable to go in and offer invoice on a new car. unless the vehicle is on constraint (sell one to get one, or can't order one period). If the dealership has the vehicle you want in stock i would offer 300-500 under invoice, that way the dealership will still make a grand or so in holdback, and puts them closer to their quota. If it is out of stock and other dealership is too far away or wont move on price, i would pay 200 over invoice (purchasing dealership has to purchase or trade for vehicle and most of the time loses a chunk of the holdback). These are very reasonable offers that most dealerships that aren't trying to high gross you will accept. Ask to see the factory invoice, as all dealerships have them on their computers or printed out already. I wouldn't recommend using the edmonds' invoices, as many times it varies from what the real invoice is. Edmonds alot of the time wont take into account destination charges, and the advertising fees that are added to all new vehicles that are sold. The advertising fee varies as to which state you are in, and edmonds doesn't take that into consideration. Hope this helped. Any questions, just PM me

I paid $500 over invoice for my '06 in Feb of '06. I think I could have got it for invoice maybe but since they came down a little on the APR, it came out more or less the same in the end. Since they had exactly the car I wanted on the lot, I got it.

The '07 has a few changes to it as well, so I dunno for sure. Start at invoice or lower, you can always go up if need be. The economy isn't exactlly booming much anymore.
