Default WANTING to get a Z... need help

Hey guys, this is a nice forum i see... anyway, im looking to get a Z, I want an 03, 86K original miles, found one for about $9,900, and my favorite color for the Z... blue, here is the site

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/950249248.html

and its been on craigslist for... hmmm... 3 weeks or so now? the only thing is

1.) its an auto, do these come triptonic? (i tried researching it, but only have so much access on my work computer, lol) and any downgrade with the auto compaired to the manual? (performance, tranny problems compaired to each, etc etc.)

2.) is this a good price? i seen average around $13-$15K as the cheapest...

3.) I also have a 2003 hyundai tiburon GT v6 with a couple mods, I/E, great shape (which im possibly looking to trade in for, ill HAVE to if i get this...) and KBB said trade in value is about $7,000 or so... so ill be losing some $$$, any advise on the trade value? or how to get "more" out of it at all?

that should be it for now, lol, from looking over the site, it seems everyone is pretty informative and helpful, and hope to get the same treatment. thanks!

hmm I would still expect a car like that to sell for 12-15.

I will be sick to my stomache if you can get a Z for a used tiberon+2k. sweet deal if it's legit, but there must be a catch.

you can flip the car into manual mode whenever you want - bump it up or down to shift. no paddle shifters but there are aftermarket options for that if you care for it. the auto's in the Z are pretty killer, they are slightly slower in accel compared to their MT counterparts though.

nice, thanks for the quick respose. im thinking of doing this... i have yet to call the dealer, but once i do... we'll see. Im mainly a M/T person, but good thing it pops into manual whenever i want. the Z is the #1 car ive wanted for years... ever since it came out!

I hear you. you'll hear a lot of people hating on autos but they are more then capable, you do sacrifice a tiny bit of power for the convenience. I drive a 5 AT myself. with a plenum spacer, pop charger and 3" exhaust I can keep up with a stock MT ;/.

there are no real mechanical issues for the AT though.

good to know, good to know, thanks again!

also... i heard the 03's have a weight distribution issue for the rear end? idk if this is true... but the one i heard this from said he had to put his subwoofer and spare tire and a lil more weight in the back to keep from slidding (obveously the RWD portion)

anyone heard of this?

that would be news to me. sounds more like shitty tires (or an inexpierienced RWD driver) then weight distribution.

Does the automatic transmission have a manual mode? Look at the shifter. Do you see plus and minus signs?
