Grand Touring model?

Grand Touring model?
Hey guys, first post on here. I have been itching to pull the trigger on a 350z for a couple years and I finally ran across one that really stood out to me, a one owner, low mile '06 350z Grand Touring coupe. It's being advertised as a touring model but it has all the bells and whistles that differentiate the GT from the Touring. It's a really nice package, Silverstone Metallic, black interior, 6-speed, and every option except nav. That's where the problem arises...now isn't the ideal time for me to spring on a new car because my fiance and I are saving up for a wedding. I'm not one for settling, and I really like the Brembo's & 18/19" staggered Rays V2s. So assuming that I pass on this vehicle, how rare are the GT's to come up for sale?
Here's a link to the one I'm considering, any thoughts on the price?

It looks like it is a GT. The only difference between the touring and GT were the rims and brakes that I am aware of. I would use the VIN # listed to double check. The rims and brakes are always something the previous owner could have added. You will not find nearly as many GT for sale as other models because not as many of them were made. Most of the models will be the base, enthusiast and touring.

I called the local dealer and ran the VIN by them and they said they weren't able to determine which model it was based on the VIN. I also ran the VIN decoder without any luck. But you're right, the Brembos and rims were the only difference between the Touring & Grand Touring so it could very well be an upgraded Touring model (seeing as the previous owner also upgraded the induction & I see a mount for a Valentine radar on the mirror, it's entirely possible) but I figure those would be costly upgrades so I might as well get one that already has them on there. Besides, not too many people sell those sexy 18/19" Rays V2 rims off their Track models

Look behind the rear wheels, it has the little black fender flares that are only found on GT/Track models. Few people know of them, and so it's doubtful that it would have been added if the Brembos and v.2 Track wheels were added. This is probably a "real" GT.
Additionally, this car has Nismo exhaust, a pop-charger and clear corners. Clear corners aren't that big of a deal, but the nismo exhaust and the pop-charger are nice additional touches. It also means the previous owner liked to mod the car. That may or may not mean he (or she) had a lead foot.
However, the '06s have a rev-up motor (7k redline is correct) when coupled with a 6-speed. There are known oil-consumption issues with this particular motor, so you are kinda taking your chances. Definitely get the remaining factory warranty (if it's transferable) and watch oil consumption LIKE A HAWK if you pull the trigger on this car. Read the oil consumption thread, all 200+ pages of it (search for Oil Consumption, it's also stick-ied to the top of one of the sub forums here). You may want to pass after you read that thread.
Full-disclosure, I have an '06 Track, have replaced the engine under warranty once already. I love the car, but I wish I had an '07 or '08 with an HR motor.
If it was me and my money, I would wait for a good '07 GT to come along. Time is going to be in your favor, and they will come up, especially as ppl upgrade to the new 370z.
It is a nice looking car tho.

Wow there is a lot of bad info in this thread. Unless the car has had a lot of stuff swapped out, yes it is a GT. I have one and should know. The VIN will NOT tell you the model in most cases. As some have stated, it has to have the Brembos, the RAYS wheels, leather, stainless pedals and even the worthless little rubber pieces behind the rear tires.
Just as a point of reference, I paid about $19,400 for mine in December of 2008 and it had 16,000 miles. The price is really good because they are just hard to find. Yes you could get an HR for that price but it will probably be bare as can be. So which do you want, a newer car with no options of the older one that is all decked out.
Also, someone can correct me if I am wrong, but not all the HR GTs came with all the options that the '06 GT came with.
