Default Looking at 06 and 08 350z

I am looking at an 06 and 08 350z

06 Brickyard Red
  • 46000 Miles, claims to still have Factory Power train which I want in writing.
  • 6smt
  • Base
  • No mods
  • Tinted Windows
  • No Mechanical issues during Test Drive

08 White Enthusiast
  • 82000 Miles
  • 6smt
  • Enthusiast
  • Tinted Windows
  • 20" Rims (Not a fan really and no idea if spedo was changed)
  • Pioneer Premier Double Din CD Player with either the base Bose Speakers or after market subs
  • Warped Rotor
  • Calipers are Painted Red with cheap paint
  • Rattle In trunk
  • Tire related road noise.. worried it was lowered improperly?

So my questions are:

1) All Mechanical problems repaired which would you all suggest?

2) Because of the 82k miles, the finance company will only do a 4 year loan on the 08.. but a 5 year on the 06... Making my down pmt and monthly both lower at same rate... but does it really matter as I pay more in the end for the 5 year loan...?

3) Anyone else seen excess wear on the inside of 20" tires or any tires on a car that was improperly lowered?

4) Book value of both cars is 18,500.. both are listed at dealerships at 19900.. what would you offer and take max on both cars?

Holy ****. How's that possible? That's like a buzzillion miles a day. I'd buy the 06. And yes all 06's factory warranty expire this year. Mine was born july 8th or so 2006 and mine expires that day this year. Sucks. Oh yea buy the 06.

How about neither? Keep searching for a better deal or lower miles. I'm sure there are some 07's with under 40,000 miles that can be found for under $19,000.

I am curious as to why you're skeptical that a car made in 2006 with 46,000 miles would still have the "factory powertrain." Or are you alluding to the oil consumption issues with many 2006 Rev-Up engines and a possible engine replacement?

I'd pass on both cars. You can certainly do better.

Because I don't trust dealers and was uncertain if it was from date sold as new or from build date.

Unless it has been repainted, the 2006 cannot be Brickyard. Brickyard was only on the 2003 models. It might be Interlagos Fire instead.

Very well could be, in all my research names of colors was a class I skipped and just assumed color was same each year.

Also, there are not a whole slew of Z's here in Abq, so far I have test driven all for sale by a dealer in a 100 mile radius and have been looking since Late December. Full options are:
  • 04 Silver Convertible ~65k miles burnt clutch smell pulls to the right has bose and convertible which I don't want
  • 06 "maroon" Convertible manual... is a convertible which I don't want
  • 08 White Manual (Issues above)
  • 03 Beat to hell silver POS (One I didn't even try to drive.. you need aired up tires for that)
  • 06 46k mile "maroon" manual no issues I could find

I dont have the credit to finance a private sale so I am stuck with a dealer and those are the options I have...

What would you pay on the 06 with no issues? Book is 18.5k
