Default Chamois

After drying the Z with a chamois I noticed grease stains on the chamois. How can I get these out or is it even necessary to remove the stains?

invest in an air compressor if you wanna be hardcore, or start washing your chamois in the washer - liquid detergent only.

good luck

Chamois need to be washed before using. They come with washing instructions.. but I believe they say use a mild soap.. they have some sort of protective stuff in them to ship. Be sure to rinse it good afterwards.

Personally I'd move away from Chamois.. microfiber towels do a better job and leave less mess as they age like Chamois do. Get a towel like the big blue towel, or some people like the absorber..

Microfiber towels you can just toss in the washing machine to clean.. much easier to maintain then Chamois.

the Water Blade is a good investment, as well. just search anywhere for it, there have been a number of threads here about it. seems like a winner all around

Thumbs up

Thanks, guys! I will get my hands on some microfiber towels and maybe try the water blade. I have reservations about the waterblade scratching. I'll do a search to see if anyone has mentioned anything. Thanks again!

the blade of the Waterblade is silicon or something, not just a rubber strip to prevent scratching or pitting. if you zaino (or even standard wax) regularly and you properly hose your car off, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. You drag your chamois across your car and it doesn't scratch, right?

good luck, let us know what you decide on
