Default 2007 Wheel discoloration

Hi folks, does anyone have any dark spots or discoloration on their factory wheels? I just purchased a 2007 Z that was 4 months old and only had 2000 miles on it. When I went to wash the vehicle for the first time I noticed black spots on the rims.

I did not use any wheel cleaner because they were not that dirty. It appears to be small spots that are black. I tried waxing them out but they would not come out. Is there some time of wheel cleaner the previous owner could have put on it to damage them? It is on every wheel but to various degrees. It looks like it could be a manufacturing defect but the pattern may suggest something was sprayed on it. Are there any issues with the 5 star rims? Thank you for any suggestions and help with this.

Hey Eric, my Z is also Carbon Silver. I wonder if they were made around the same time and they had an issue at the factory. How many miles do you have and did you use any cleaner on them?

I will post pics when I get off work this morning. If they are defective from the factory I wonder if I can get Nissan to pay for me to dip them in chrome.

i dont have spots on mine, but I did notice 2 of my wheels look kind of hazy a little if you get up and look at them close enuff when cleaning them. I was gonna hit them with a powerball or something to see if it comes up.
From reg cleaning though it dont help.

Contact the dealership. I noticed them within a week after I bought my 07 and they promptly exchanged them out. They openly admitted to me that a few sets have come through with the overspray/spots.

Thanks Juicehead, I am going to go by the dealer this morning. I believe upon closer examination that the spots are where there was no paint from the factory. It is on every wheel so it must be a manufacturers defect of some kind.

Same here. I can't really notice them much, it's just really disappointing they came from the factory like that.

One of my wheels had this problem and the dealership replaced it without any hassle.
