How does having a track model help top end? I see you have a touring so the slight weight advantage would go to me but it wouldnt make a significant difference in 1/4 times, less than 100 lbs.
don't you guys have a higher rpm range? which means holding the gear out for a little bit longer?

YEs we do, but your wrong, it doesnt matter that we redline higher because your not taking the transmission ratio into account. By your thinking a Z with a stock 6600 rpm redline would shift sooner and fly through the gears faster than an S2K with a 9000rpm redline, when in reality both cars shift points are almost identical through 4th gear. He runs 12's because he has better TQ down low, I trap higher cuz of aerodynamics and gearing.
