My friend told me the top speed of my Z was 149. I told him hes a moron and his Vr-4's top speed is that. After 10 more minutes of arguing we went for a top speed run. 152mph and a lil more room left, (got a lil wiery after passing cars doin 45).
SO everyone whats the fastest you got your Z up to?

158 and then I shut it down due to the fact I was coming up on traffic.

 

140 on Christmas morning at 7am. 4 lanes wide open on I-95. It was my gift to myself.

 

Its 159, I havent been able to break that with the limiter even holding it for a good 30 seconds down hill. I read about guys hitting low 160's on the digital I think they are full of $hit. Ive done it twice with the stock ecu, suprisingly I havent tried with the Technosquare to see what it will do now...mid to high 160's would be my guess if I had enough room, maybe 170 if I caught a nice hill run.

BTW iirc some guy with a Greddy kit hit 180 or so gps verified in his Z. If I had 500+ wheel hp, you'd be seeing videos of me hitting fuel cut in 6th....I think with a 7100 rpm fuel cut its around 190.

I've hit 145 on the freeway. Dead straight for miles. RPM was over 5k. The car still felt solid. 155 wouldve been possible.

 

Not top speed but the fastest I ever took it was 103 down the 1/4. I never find a reason or an opportunity to do a top speed run on the road

 

140, felt really easy to get there too. Just before that we took my friends LS1 Z28, and it felt like it took longer to get there than the Z, Z28 really died at 130, and the Z just kept pulling

 

I do 103 everyday it gets there so quick you dont really know it. I am pretty sure I have seen that the automatic shuts off 158 and the M/T shuts off like 163 darn gov. it cuts the fuel off completely.
