Default Last NA Run Before turbo...

So I went to Irwindale tonight to do one more N/A Track event before the twins arrive next week and I am happy to say that I went out with a personal best of 8.825 at 80.45 mph 60 foot was only a 2.003 which actually is also a personal best in my Z but since I'm running et streets this needs to get better. Only performance mod is the Crawford Plenum which I proudly installed myself this morning.

here was my best run:

RT---.542
60'--2.003
330'-5.742
1/8--8.825
mph-80.45

I'm running MT ET Streets which are basically slicks and am launching at around 4000 rpm. I'm still working on feathering the clutch a bit more in order to avoid the damn bogging

Is Irwindale at high elevation? You should be able to pull sub 2.0 60ft's with slicks even on a really bad launch. Are you heating them up enough? Pulling the fuse? I ran a 8.8X 1/8 mile stock, down to the tires, you should be better than that<----if your track is near sea level.

I have a fuse switch but my burnouts especially that day sucked. I'm still getting a hang of this. They don't put enough water in the box and so you stick too fast.
However I believe my real problem is the launch, I keep on bogging. I think I'm dropping the Clutch too fast I need to feather it just a bit.

I don't think you'll see anyone out here doing 8.8's stock on street tires...

I hear you on this one, my problem is the track Ive been going to is way to sticky. I launch at 6000 rpm's and bog as well, pulling $hitty 1.8 and 1.9 60ft's. Lower revs @ this sticky track = a major bog. I dont even want to try to slip the stock clutch its been good to me for 52K miles, dont want to kill it just yet. Keep practicing you'll get it. How much psi are you running?

I'm running at 16 psi, and have been launching at 4000 RPM . I got the JWT Clutch so I'm not too worried there. Even though I have the upgraded Axles I am a bit reluctant launching at higher RPMS

Thats the problem right there.....if your scared of breaking something you shouldnt be racing, and on slicks no less <----just my opinion, go all out man, it will be fine. Good luck with FI.

hmh....didn't you just make the statement that you're afraid to fry your clutch???

I am just being cautious, I don't believe racing is about destryoing your car...pushing it and yourself to the limits yes but planned and controlled, that's the challenge.
One step at a time, every time I've gone to the track my time has improved and it will continue to do so.
Dropped off the car this morning, in one week I'll be FI'ed
