Maybe if the OP drills a few more holes in his airboxes he would be half way there. OP is the most annoying new member in a while. He is arrogant, combative and defensive at best and he complains of everyone else acting like children. Jeez...

the 07 exhausts are much better then the previous models. i thought aftermarket exhausts will help that much. test pipes would help. so test pipes, cold air and a 1.5 60ft? lol

We have a member with an 07 with just test pipes run with a ~04 Mach1 with exhaust and 4.10's. Sounds to me like test pipes give a good kick to the HR.

No way, I am going to hit a 1.6 60' with a stock motor. Maybe low 1.8's, with DR's.

My clutch pedal has been a major hold up on launching hard. I have launched relatively easy, compared to how I could launch with my 04. The car is at the dealer right now, and has been for a couple of days, while they go over the slave cylinder issue. Nissan even sent them a questionnaire, to have me fill out, as they are finally working to resolve the 07 clutch pedal issue. Apparently enough warranty repairs have been made, so they are trying to figure out the exact cause of the pressure loss. The New G37 has the same issue, and Road and Track found out first hand.

Anyway, I think a 13.0-13.1 on street tires is possible, completely stock, with no clutch issue, in cool weather. I guess I will find out. I think a 12.9 could be done, with DR's, but that wouldn't be stock, and my car will remain stock, until I set my PB when it's cool.

You make it seem as if its so easy to get below 2.0 on stock tires. Anyone hitting 1.9, like VeeTec did, are fortunate enough to have the experience & great track preperation to have such an amazing 60ft for a RWD on stock rubber.

Even with slicks & forced induction, 1.6-1.7 60 ft's aren't easy to come by.

Hear from the person you refer to himself:

VitViper, like I said, I think 12's will be hit with full bolt-ons & drag radials on those great specific east coast tracks. There's no way a stock 2007 350Z will ever hit 12's.... not unless its way under negative DA's or something extreme like that.

Those who can get below 13.6 with a completely stock (down to the rubber) 2007 350Z should feel fortunate to have such a track, conditions, & driving (mostly the east coast guys... NJ & MD tracks to be specific)

What exactly do you have happening with your clutch? When I tried to launch hard over 3k rpm I've had my clutch pedal go to the floor and it felt like my clutch was burning (smelled it too). Not sure how to approach the dealer on this one...

Best I've managed on the street tires is a 2.15. If I could squeeze in a 2.00 I'll be sitting at a 13.4-13.5 ET or so. Perfectly fine with me for a stock time

If I recall, you stated you managed a 13.7 with a 2.15. Not bad at all... but shaving 0.15 isnt going to cut your time by 0.3

I use to believe the saying that states "every 0.1 seconds off your 60ft shaves 0.2 off your E.T". But according to my experience, it only shaves off what you shaved off your 60ft.

I've had this confirmed by almost most of the people I track with.

13.7 is a great time anyhow. Much better than what my stock 06 G35 coupe can do. If only I had a VQ35HR & better track

It's a common problem with the 07. Nissan suspects it's the slave cylinder, but hasn't given a specific reason for the failure. IMO, the design of the new unit has a flaw, which allows it to heat up too much, under revs, causing a drop in pressure, hence the pedal drop, and clutch slippage.

They are working with myself, and many others now, who are having their cars repaired under warranty, in hopes that they can isolate the exact cause. Once they confirm the cause, I am sure a TBS and fix will be ordered.

You don't need a drag strip to have this problem either. I have sat in horrible traffic, and when I summoned the power, the same thing has occurred.

.

I guess it depends on the driver and the day then, because if you told me while I was driving at the track, what my 60' was while going down the track, I could tell you most likely what my ET would be.

I have about 5 slips from one day in which the theory of .1 off the 60' is .2 off the 1/4 is nearly perfect. Again, it may depend a lot of the car, and driver consistency.

There is a guy here in MD-Gooey who will be in the 12's come September 21st. He has alread run low 13's, now he's adding a 4.0 FD, and I hope a clutch, we are renting the track for a private track day so there should be some records popping up....
