get some draglites with slicks, light weight wheels up front. take out spare, jack, etc. maybe light weight seats, 1/8 tank or less, no washer fluid, negative DA, cool weather, should be pretty close.

Its an unusual question from a member who drives a 2007. I assumed that you were working to improve your times with your car. But I see no time slips. So this means what? "Can someone other than me run 12.99 seconds?" I am at a loss understanding this thread.

Let me know how the 4.083 install goes and how it pulls... I may be putting that ring and pinion in if all is well...

They are working with myself, and many others now, who are having their cars repaired under warranty, in hopes that they can isolate the exact cause. Once they confirm the cause, I am sure a TBS and fix will be ordered.

You don't need a drag strip to have this problem either. I have sat in horrible traffic, and when I summoned the power, the same thing has occurred.
Yeah I just tried this on the street... it's pretty cool out this mornig (60's) and I've just driven to work.... 3500 rpm clutch drop + power just gave me awesome wheelspin and no clutch burning.... That at the track caused the pedal to stick as I applied power from the 3500rpm launch (and the clutch to burn).

My question to you is... should I call my dealer's service department and have them look into this? I've got 5k miles on the car so I've still got time to get it taken care of before 12k miles....

I have about 5 slips from one day in which the theory of .1 off the 60' is .2 off the 1/4 is nearly perfect. Again, it may depend a lot of the car, and driver consistency.
At woodburn I noticed if I pulled .05 off my 60 I netted .1 in the 1/4. So I guess it is dependant on the driver and the track.

There is a guy here in MD-Gooey who will be in the 12's come September 21st. He has alread run low 13's, now he's adding a 4.0 FD, and I hope a clutch, we are renting the track for a private track day so there should be some records popping up....

I personally am interested in lowering my own ET, but I also have a curiosity to see what better drivers can do.

I would take it in, unless you just want to wait. It won't get better though.

How do I explain the problem to them without having them accuse me of being "aggressive" with the car? lol

It's a 350Z, it was made to be driven aggressively. If you can't accelerate like Nissan claims you can, what's the point.

All this bs post about tires and bolt ons and, until the last page, no comment on weight reduction? Nothing serious. Spare tire, remove seat, little things. Instead of trying to shoot down peoples goal help them figure what to do. The HR will be in the 12's very soon.

Everyone on here IS wuick to hate on others. The first post was. I think we have to many imature kids/young adults and yes some older ones on the boards.

If you don't like the OP just put him in your ignore list. Then you won't be able to "hate" on his "useless" post

Just my nickle with 3cents extra

Chris

My clutch pedal has been a major hold up on launching hard. I have launched relatively easy, compared to how I could launch with my 04. The car is at the dealer right now, and has been for a couple of days, while they go over the slave cylinder issue. Nissan even sent them a questionnaire, to have me fill out, as they are finally working to resolve the 07 clutch pedal issue. Apparently enough warranty repairs have been made, so they are trying to figure out the exact cause of the pressure loss. The New G37 has the same issue, and Road and Track found out first hand.

Anyway, I think a 13.0-13.1 on street tires is possible, completely stock, with no clutch issue, in cool weather. I guess I will find out. I think a 12.9 could be done, with DR's, but that wouldn't be stock, and my car will remain stock, until I set my PB when it's cool.
I am sure you can attest I'm a ******* regarding this and even I can easily admit that a 12.99 or better could be done with DRs and -DA alone... It's not exactly a hard thing to shave 3+ tenths off with DRs...

If anyone has been vocal about how the 07 performs it's been me and some of you guys even had me going WTF!

And what exactly do you mean by this statement? The car performs way better than any of the previous versions of this VQ engine. The HR is a stout engine.

Some people get a little carried away but the facts are the facts. People have dyno numbers and track times to back everything up. Doesn’t mean that’s its better or worse, everyone has their own budget and power goals when getting a car.

If so, you've never owned a 350z and till you got this nismo and labled your self an enthusiast...As to everyone else...I love the Z, AND the HR especially... the direction that nissan is going is great, Shiet I wish I could swap the HR in my Z, Its a great stout engine no doubt, but some of you guys are beginning to think your driving super cars...where all still within that 13sec...get real
