Where are you getting that from? We are having a discussion about how to get a 07 to run a 12(high) second 1/4 mile. There are no grand delusions here to what the car is capable of, from what I've seen.

Your attack on Solo was clearly uncalled for. -nevermind, you went ahead and edited it.

for a car that runs around 13.3-13.5 stock, 12's wont be much of a problem with stickies and a few boltons.
Get an 07 with radials and exhaust, and maybe headers on a NJ track in October. I bet it will happen.

it doesn't even need headers... anyway I heard they are pretty sweet on the 07s!

I was at the track this past friday. Very hot humid weather 90degrees 80% humidity. Pulled couple 2.0 60's and 1 1.99 60' with my 19's on
best run of the night was only a 13.601 @ 102
The heat killed the runs

I have been running those same numbers this summer also. The heat and humidity is really bad. I only go to practice my 60' now.

I give VeeTec credit for being an excellent driver. But you also forgot to give credit to a bigger factor... the track itself

I dream of the day we (Californians) get an excellent 1/4 mile track @ low elevation, with a region of colder climates, and better track preparation

Oh well, I'll let VeeTec do it, I couldn't hold out and leave my car stock.
I think the point is a stock car on DRs.....a different clutch...isn't stock.

IMO a stock 350Z on drag radials will never make it into the 12s...the power, suspension geometry, and drivetrain isn't there in a stock Z.

BTW what is the point in beating on a stock car? FI is the way to go with a Z car to make impressive numbers.

nobody specifically said and aftermarket clutch, just one that doens't slip.

some of the 07's clutch have slipping issues, mine doesn't slip, and the clutch is stock

veetec ran a 13.3 on a slipping clutch, which he posted just got repaired at the dealer, apparently it was a slave cylinder issue or something, so we'll see what he runs now

i ran a 13.49 on a 2.1 60ft, i think with drag radials (especially if they are shorter than the stock tires, for shorter gearing) a 1.6-1.7 60ft is possible (not nessisarily with me driving), with that 60ft, a 12 sec run is entirely possible

i'm not gonna say it absolutly will be done, cause till people try, we won't know

just out of curiosity, what was ur best run in ur z06?

I ran 12.8 at 106.12 with 246 rwhp 3100 raceweight in my stang

there are alot of non posting 12 second bolton cars out there, I gurantee it. I have seen 5-6 different 350zs alone at my track that trap 105-107 with boltons and run 12.9-13.1

LMAO @ man who ran 12.6 at 116 thinks his Z might go 12.9 with tire and limited boltons.

why? w/ a 3.9 rear diff, should be very possible. Not that trap speed, but the time should be within reason...

I took mine into Nissan this morning for the same issue. Everytime I launch the car hard from 3500+ my clutch pedal starts sinking to the ground and the clutch smells like @ss. Replicated it for the dealership over and over again. LoL, almost amusing watching a Nissan tech watch me launch the car hard on the street.

Well nissan disagrees since I'm getting a revised slave cylinder and new clutch/flywheel/pressure plate

damn, really? it was that easy? did u tell them u took it to the track? cause my pedal started sinking today at the track after about 4 2.0 60ft's (nothing better than a 13.5x) but on the street its fine so far. one thing that really freaked me out is when i was doing the burn out, the clutch just let go in the middle. the wheels stopped spinning and the clutch just let go, i could feel it slip, like a clutch burn out if u will, not just burning the clutch, but more like spinning it really fast against the flywheel.

anyway, did this problem progressively get worse, or was it always like that from the begining. cause mine was perfect till tonight

Mine first did it at around 1,500-2,000 miles, and I had 11,5XX when I took it in for the fix.

It didn't get better over time either. The problem is with the slave cylinder losing pressure. The amount of time it happens will depend on how much pressure loss you have. Mine would drop on the street as well, if I sat in heavy traffic, and then tried to accelerate.

So far my clutch pedal pressure has been fine since the fix, and it feels like it bites much harder now, but I will test it out soon, just to make sure.

I see a recall, in the not too distant future.

did the problem start "not to bad" (for lack of a better expression) and get worse, or was it always the same from when it started till when u got it fixed?

cause this happened to me at the track twice last night, and both times on some of the harder launches i was trying (must hit 1.9 60ft)

also, did it vary? like one night at the track it did it, then a different night it didn't?

It started off on my first hard launch attempt. After that, it varied. If I let the car cool off, it did better. Hard launches brought it on every time though.

Forget about hot lapping.

On the street, heavy stop and go traffic, and quick acceleration, will bring it on at times.

VeeTec described what mine was doing quite well.. I just didn't wait til 11xxx miles to go in since VeeTec's already got the ball rolling (along with a few other people) and Nissan was aware of the problem. It was progressively getting worse... Started around 2k miles with my first peel out attempt on the street (clutch pedal went to the floor) and then seemed fine... Seemed OK at the track, but anytime I tried launching hard the pedal only came up half way (probably why my times kind of sucked, clutch not fully engaging during the launch).

At one point on the track I let the car cool off completely... tried a hard launch... bye bye clutch pedal. And I ran a 17.3... lol

I just showed the techs when it happens... I did some 3-4k takes off and nailed the throttle and let them watch the clutch pedal sink... clutch reeked like you know what after half a dozen such show and tell attempts. I'd have to pump my pedal each time to get it back up to the top.

Like VeeTec told me... it's a sports car, if you can't drive it hard, what's the point? heh (no I didn't tell them I went to the track, I live near a country road so I have the chance to take off hard everytime I leave my driveway).

Currently my clutch engagement from idle and between shifts is mushy as #$@@#
