Post #16 definitely had a little something to say, oh yeah, he's a 350Z owner.
And I do like how civil the thread is also.

If in doubt, look here:

https://my350z.com/forum/drag/333115-track-runs-against-a-gt.html

Not only is it proven that the Z doesn't need anything to run a 13.8+, but that it will beat a GT Mustang.

mustangs FTL, their overglorified "sports cars"

if you think about it, Z's hold their own against v8's

fixed for accuracy. a new GT is about equal with an HR, and faster than a DE. obviously, they arent real different so its a drivers race. but any def can beat 13.8 stock

You didn't fix anything. You posted no links to any factual evidence to back up your post. All you did was "say" they are equal. Your word means nothing. Provide a link to a list of "bone stock" GT Mustangs running times better than 13.3 in the 1/4 or you prove nothing.

they don't own Z's, so they don't know anything about Z.. it's ok when they said that.

My stock 05' Z (street tires and no HP mods) ran a 13.9 in the SW florida summer heat. 13.8 can happen stock. No HR motor needed.

Yeah, it was an ignorant statement. I've also seen some very ignorant statements about mustangs made by Z owners on this site.

And stock 90-95 Z32 TTs were a HIGH of 6.0s 0-60, but figures are as low as mid 5s 0-60 and high 13s 1/4 mile with a 70mph slalom (same as Z33 03' track slalom). Compare that to 64-65mph slalom for the new GT.

To be fair, that same GT runs 0-60 in 5.1s and 1/4 at 13.5 at ~104mph. Not too bad for $25k if you like their look and domestic quality.

A lot of mustang owners are water heads. *AT BEST*... The problem is everyone and their brother buys mustangs. It's just a majority thing.

Fortunately there is also a decent chunk of them that are not clueless..you just don't see them hanging out with your 'typical' mustang owner.

Bradenton..

I autocross at least two days a month, but almost never do straight-line stuff. This is the only 1/4 mile track I have ever ran.

Hot and humid. (Don't remember the temp at the time of that run, but my trip computer showed mid 90's around 6pm that day. IIRC) The track was dry and had good traction though.

Then you obviously didn't read the other thread before posting because I did post links to factual evidence from the Mustang forums where it's even said what their cars run stock and not a single member said a word against it. They report only one instance of a stock GT running a 13.3xx and only because it cut a 1.8 60' and it was in cold temps. Otherwise the GT hardly ever breaks 13.5's even with a 1.8 60'. Next time try reading before posting and making yourself look ignorant. Your word means nothing compared to the word of every Mustang owner on that forum.

BTW, I've only beed to the track once with my Z so far, and I hit the time in my sig on that first visit. So I know for certain that it can be improved on. But I also ran against a few s197 GT's while there, and I pulled on them down the entire track. If they were equal I wouldn't be able to walk them after the launch regardless of my driving skill level.

after following your link, i see stock 13.3, that beats you so its obviously not the z everytime, making it a drivers race. we all have z's here, just get off the nuts and accept that a 4.6l v8 is equal to your 3.5. im not sure why you hate that idea so much really, doesnt sound bad to me.

PS: i like the thread, somehow a 2.0 60' is 13.6-13.7, but a 1.8 is 13.5??? the math doesnt follow.
