Default Drag radial Q, maybe you guys know

Hey all I searched but didn't find the tire width vs wheel width answer.

Well its obvious I need to run Drag radials 100% of the time now. I am going to be trying out those "camber bolts" you know the ones that will give you about 1degree of adjustment in the rear. I am hoping the alignment shop can get about -0.5 camber (thats 1/2 degree of negative camber) for me.

I run a 9.5in rear wheel. I am basically down to 2 tires. Either the BFG drag radials in 295-35-18 or 275-35-18. Has anyone run the 295's on a 9.5in wheel (in the 18in diameter) or is the wheel too narrow? I like the tire height better of the 295 vs the 275 (26.2in vs 25.6in)

or the Nitto 285-35-18 (nitto has a 285-40-18 on their website, but no one seems to have them).

Any thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

PS - MT drag radial isn't an option because if someone spits in front of the car I'd be hydroplaning. I'm sure to get caught in rain every once in a while and those tires just can't handle that lol.

Thanks in advance.

Tom

Like regular tires you have some play when it comes to tire-wheel matching. Here is a good reference: http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs...dial/1161.html

yea been there. I know they say the 295 is good down to a 10in wheel. Just didn't know if anyone had tried a 9.5in......its not that much different but don't know enough about rubber technology vs sidewall height

295 is fine on a 9.5" wheel. It will pudge of course but I like that look.

Only time I would be driving in the rain is if I get caught. Wouldn't be out just driving in the rain. So I may lean toward the BFG 295's

Thanks for the input everyone.

When I went to the Drags a couple of weeks ago, I had my M/T Street Radials on. It was Very Foggy @ 5am and everything was covered in Dew and the streets were Wet.

I was very concerned about driving on Wet Streets, as I'd only driven the car with M/T'S on completely Dry Streets Before this.

I started out to the Drags and did a few test Stops and hard turns, and was Very Pleased with the Traction. The car felt Solid.

Wow,
From the looks of the MT Radials, they have zero water-sheddong ability since the side cuts, don't come near the center of the tire.

nice
