Ah, sounds good. I will definetly take this into consideration if i go that route.

Everyone.. I would lik to thank all for the very useful input. I have my eyes on a set of 4 factory 17's. I'm looking at putting some 275/40/17 NITTO's DR's in the rear and a set of 225/40/17 in the front... looks like cost effective and take care of the traction I'm looking for...Any thoughts welcomed.

I think everyone wasted their breath on a kid with little drag experience and overall drag knowledge. Those are my thoughts.
Mod the driver before the car. Then, research before buying. Clearly not what happened as you put your car together.

Even though I appreciate the kid comment... I am old enough that you could probably be my son. These forums are for informational purposes and like I said before, I appreciate all the useful information provided. If you dont have anything positive to say or you're just mad at the world for whatever reason get help and dont lash out at someone you dont even know.

Well just to update everyone with what I have accomplished since the last time, NOTHING.... The guy that I was to get the wheels from was a flake, and with me working overseas and very little time at home, gave me some extra time to look at all the other options you guys spent time in recommending. I was looking around in Ebay and saw some cheap 03-06 350z 18x8 wheels. Will those clear Brembos? They are the 6 spoke touring wheels. If so, Im going to look at getting the 265/40/18 MT's Drag Radials for the rear keep the Volk's up front. Hopefully VDC wont get mad... Thoughts????

why do you care about your VDC? all the stuff is off and disabled at the track anyhow. as soon as you put on your street wheels, it will reset.

i run/ran 18" M&H DR's but i'd suggest just waiting on a set of 17" stock wheels and running a hoosier QTP radial

He has 16" 300Z TT rear wheels with 1" spacers to clear Brembos.. Still looking for options since Im still overseas and wont be home till end of the month. Just need to get as much info before I go out and buy the set up.. Thanks for the info

...Update... Just bought a set of S2000 16" rear wheels with M/T 255/50/16 26" tall drag radials very cheap..... I know the wheels have the same bolt pattern. Now I have to see what kind of spacer Im going to need to clear the brakes.. Once I get them on I will be posting pics.

I don't know how much power you're putting down, but if you got a 26" tall tires, you'll probably be shifting into 5th. You should've looked for taller tires.

Yeah.. I thought about that after reading Sparks03max post.. Not sure how much power I have yet but, I dont think I'm putting down anything over 370. As far as i know I have the stock gearing. I also will be running 1/8th most of the time since its so close to my house (4 min drive) . Right now I just want to have a decent 60', the looks I was looking for has gone thru the waste side. I should be back home this weekend. so I will be udating as I go.. Maybe If I shift at 7k running the 1/4 mi, I may be able to stay in 4th??

i couldnt even stay in 3rd in 1/8th with 26" tires shifting at like 6700 rpms. maybe with a 7100 rpm redline you could stay in 3rd all the way in the 1/8.

but you def dont wanna have to shift to 4th in the 1/8th so adjust your rev limiter after a few passes to make sure you dont.

Yeah, shifting into fourth would be bad on the 1/8.. Im going to be putting this together next week since I'll be back home for good this weekend. Hopefully I can have some runs in for the following weekend and adjust from there..Im not sure where where the limiter is at right now but I will be tunning soon and that will be looked at also... I see your in Raleigh any good tuners in your area? Im heading that way (Fayetteville) next month to see my buddys form back in the day..

Hey guys.. just an udate, it looks like Im going to need a 25mm spacer to clear my brakes. My question is, what is more reliable? A regular spacer and replace the stock studs with longer studs or a studded spacer like the one ichiba makes? Thanks in advance...

Replace the studs with ARP's and buy billet, slip on spacers. I wouldn't put the pre-studded spacers on if someone paid me.

Oh so sexy, i love this look. plus function to boot!!

i really need to get a set of rims/tires and stop messin with 19's and street tires...

op i guess u already got rims, but skinney's up front with a set rims like theres in the rear is the way to go fast. less rotation mass plus less wind resistance. ftw
