Drag set up advice needed for my Z
I believe there are 2 different versions of the FD wheels with the earlier gen being lighter but structurally weaker. Maybe there's a difference in size and/or offset.
I do need some info on the tire pressure, what is the recommended tire pressure for slicks? I have them at 16 PSI right now..
Must be..The wheels are realy light and no need for a spacer since they sit nicely inside the wheel well.. I hope to go out to the track this weekend and shoot some vids of the runs..

As far as clearance I used a 5 mm spacer n jus fit a credit card in there...
Lookin good tho brother...
I would try 18 psi at the track n work my way down from there with multiple passes... u should get it dialed in to Wat u feel comfortable with...
As far as me choosing billet specialties over Weld n jegs is the only wheel that Weld made was called the drag lite XP n they made like 1000 sets in 2004 n they're impossible to find....
No one else as far as I kno, n many others so I've searched n read have found any 16"wheels that can fit over Brembos.....
Still op those wheels look great n should hook no issue.....
well guys guess what....The wheels do rub on the top of the caliper..
...It is so minimum that it managed to just scrape the paint and not going deep enough to see the metal on the wheel. and it is just on one specific part of the wheel that is one inch long. I guess when I spinned the wheel it was fine off the ground but when I test drove the wheels I can here them rub. So I apologize for the miss information. I will be getting some 5mm spacers and longer studs this week, so no track time this weekend

I was trying to see if there was some offset numbers imprinted on the wheels but did not see anything. I was hopping to compare yours and mine to see if there was a difference. But yes I have about an inch of room between the fender lip and the tire without spacer.

Here are pix from my wheels... I'm gonna go out on a limb n say that the offset is represented by the number 50 which seems like a lot hence y there inward more than oem's...
Also would say that the other pic with the 92 is prolly the year these were cast..

Also think the G35 uses a different offset than a Z... Not sure on this but something I always pondered wen lookin thru G35driver wheels section....
Just did a quick search about the FD wheels:

The one on the left is the older version that is 1.5 lb lighter, but given the design, it is structurally weaker and is said to be "brittle." The one on the right is the stronger version and the version that is recommended for racing applications. Both versions of the wheels have +50 offset. If the wheel has "PFD" stamped on it, then you have the older version.

The first link I provided said something about "PFD" but I wasn't able to find any pictures of it.
I found another link that mentions the stamping. Apparently, the older versions have a "92" or "93" (only the early 93s) stamped on it.

Yea jus had a look an according to ur link I have the older of the 2.. I compared the inside of the spokes...
But size wise they're both same ...
Btw still haven't heard anything about those billet specialties..
350 I could of sworn u spoke of getting a set of custom made drags a while back.. If I'm wrong please excuse but if so please elaborate?

I just took a peak at mine and they are stamped with "FD". I guess they are the stronger ones.
.. But it funny how just one wheel just rubs. the other just barely scraped..

look on the inside mine says fd on the inside but stamped 92 on the outside.. If I'm reading correctly that means they are the older of the 2.. So the best way is look at the spoke thickness from the back n compare.. Thats Wat I did this morning... No disappoint they still fit...
According to the pics I have the old set. Interesting because the guy I bought them from had a full set and one of them was cracked across a spoke (I picked the two in best shape, got a bit of curb rash on one LOL).

Well so much for accuracy from other sources???
At the end of the day they are the same size and I hope I dont break them at the strip....
Other than that there doesnt seem to be any difference in the offsets as mine say 50 on them ....
Still want a set of wheels that fit over the Brembos...If any of u r lucky enough to find a set of Weld Draglite XP's in 16x8 5.50 BS ur doing good cause that is all so far that fits....
