i have a little under 10k miles on my Z with a crawford plenum and Injen CAI. I took 3 runs and ran :
1st Run
60-2.25
330-6.07
1/8-9.2 @79.38 mph
1/4-14.16
2nd run
60-2.18
330-6.06
1/8-9.2@79.08
1/4- 14.16
3rd Run
60-2.1
330-6.05
1/8-9.18 @79.38
1/4- 14.12
Where am i falling off, i had my tire pressure at 23 PSI in the rears on my touring, i am dying to break into the 13's its killing me that i got the same exact times 3x in a row, should i try powershifting? i need some advice here. any comments would be appreciated thanks, im gonna try a different track next week see what happens there

haha, i definatly should!, but was my tire pressure to low and that could be why i was loosing the speed toward the end of the run, or causing my tires to break loose to much when i hit second and third gear?, wtf!
What track in MD did you run at? IMO, you need to do 2 things. One, get rid of your long-tube CAI, they dont work well with the Crawford plenum. Do a search for my old post to see why. And two, work on your driving. You need to lower your 60ft at least .1, preferably get into the 2.0 range. Your car is not the lemon, its you, keep practicing. BTW, your trap is kinda low.
Did you heat up the tires? Those are fine times. It takes an experienced driver to get the z into the 13's. Practice, practice, practice.
Also, like Alberto said, get rid of the CAI if you have the Crawford. Two weekends ago, I did a 70mph/5th gear roll against a Z with a Crawford and CAI and we were dead even. He could not pull on me. We ran up to about 120 and I have stock plenum and airbox.

I ran at Cecil county, ill be at Capital next week Powershift just to try something new, I remember seeing you post a 13.7 there, maybe your free on friday night to take a couple of runs there id like to see how i can improve my driving and maybe you could give me some direct tips......do you think i should just change the long tube CAI into a short tube and put the filter at the end of the pipe? also my traps were at 101 last time i ran it stock but my times were 14.2 and 14.3......Z illinoios i did heat up the tires a little bit not smoking them, but a little burn out through the staging gate. maybe ill change up my intake before fri and see what happens
No need to powershift unless you don't race much. Powershifting KILLS your tranny.
Tire pressure would be better at around 24-26psi to help your 60' times and also keep your trap speed up.
When do you let off the clutch?
Take it to 2000rpms (when you get better you can take it to 3K) and feather the clutch. Sounds like a long process but it take less then a second. Takes practice too. LOTS of it. You have to feel when the car is spinning and adjust and give more when you're not at the limit of spinning.

I do actually race a lot, and do pretty well for myself, much better on the street then on the track, but i am letting off the clutch at around 1500-2000 feathering it out,, i guess it does take a lot of practice but thats why ill keep going every friday till i break into the 13's

Short shifters help and your not increasing power so you technically would still be stock if that was your only mod. The shifts are pretty close stock but there is always room for improvment.
I could pull 2.0 60ft's on stock tires and suspension no problem. Now I have JIC's and I have my car slammed, I have much more negative camber, and now I cant get under 2.14 60ft, even on better tires. I have to put on my Kinetix camber/traction rods. I dont think you will have this problem with Eibach's though. And as far as short-shifter's, I hate having too short of a throw for drag racing. Sure its nice flicking your wrist daily driving but drag racing I hate the feel of short shifters....
what was the date of your runs at the track ?
Stats:
Date: 05-02-04
Elevation: (baltimore) 100 ft
Weather: If you went on 05/02/04 the BP was low at 29.x, this kinda weather will make it tough on the car. and could explain a missing .1 maybe even .2 if you add in other negative factors (example: poor track prep, 60 foots, and shift points). But according to weather underground there was some high humidity going on that day also, but it could be you didnt go out to race on on the 2nd.
nice runs !

you guys should feel ok about your times. Or they sent a bunch of lemons to Ne. I was at the track Friday and there was a couple Z's there, 6mt's .They could only do 15.2 , 15.1 @ 94mph .I have a Vortech and AT5..did 13.2 at 105mph..2.05 60 ft....8.5 1/8th .Im dissapointed with it .But one run later my RT cats collapsed...so they may have been going before I even got there
