Default 03 ECU on 05 Car?

Besides swapping O2 sensors, does anyone have any insight on what complications I would see if I were to run an 03 ECU on an 05 car??

Thanks

Chris

The engine wiring harness is completely different on an 05 vs 03...so ecu should be different as well.

What is different with the harness? I know the o2 sensors and ecu are different, anything else that you know of?

If you look at the 05 motor you can see the different front engine cover with the additional vdc input sensors for intake and exhaust. Stop by the dealer and take a peek...you will see what I mean.

that's only on the 05 TRACK or 6spd 35th anniversay. the rest of the 05s are the same engine.
however there are different harnesses baed on trim level, and options such as Tire pressure sensors, etc...

I don't see that being an issue, that's the better way of doing things. I have seen some customers who have a different year motor, without changing the ECU or harness etc... and they seem to have issues quite often, with CELs and the car not running correctly etc...
Always use the same ECU for that same year motor on these cars. However, make sure that the ECU's production date matches the same production date range of the motor to help save yourself any issues in the future.
