Default Redline water wetter question

Is that Redline water wetter stuff any good to keep the engine temps down, and safe to use. I went to the local automotive store and they claim it is.

Thanks Glen

Definitely safe to use. I have used it on all of my cars, however it is hard to tell if it works

I have this stuff in my car along with a Nismo Thermostat.. Don't notice any difference in cooling.. You can probably pour it into the overflow tank but this might make your coolant level too high without taking any out..Otherwise I don't see why you can't unless someone else can chime in..

if the ad says it decreases coolant temps up to 30 degrees, shouldn't it's effectiveness be measureable with a water temp gauge?

Well I have run it in my car since this first oil change. When I got the turbo installed I got a water temp gauge that measures water temp at the outlet hose from the block so this is a good indicator of water temp inside the motor since this is where it exits and goes back into the radiator. With the stock thermostat, a mostly water and REdline Water Wetter Split my coolant temps under normal coniditions and normal dirving were around 195. Under hard driving or extreme heat water temps went as high as 205. I then removed my stock thermostat. This is how the car is now. No thermostat at all. Same fluid setup. Water temp is around 180 during normal driving. Around 195 under hard drving. When I drove up to BOTI in July the ambient temp was 105 and I had my AC on full blast during a 2 hour raodtrip followed by a few full boost runs. Highest temp seen was 205. So did it make a difference? Maybe but removing my thermostat all together did more then just the Water Wetter.

I have not used water wetter, but I use the royal purple (purple Ice) in all my vehicles. I noticed about 10 degree drop across the board on my 350Z, no way to measure on the 240z or the pathfinder though.

Yeah, I just never paid any attention and don't have an accurate one on my car
