Default 570HP VQ35 in R34

Images courtesy of Overboost.

In Overboost's own words:

We've seen Skylines with some pretty crazy engine swaps, but this one takes the cake. This bad boy uses a Nissan VQ35 V6 engine (same as the 350Z) and lays down 570 horsepower with the help of a midsize turbocharger.

Don't understand why the code isn't making the pictures show up.

i doubt its the VQ35, could be the VQ30DET. Overboost, has been known to get some details right before.

I wonder if its still AWD. I guess it could be since Nissan is using the VQ in some ATTESA-ETS applications.

that looks really sweet. I've always had a thing for the R34's. To bad i'll probably never see one in real life, let alone drive one.

A 570hp VQ35 is a good sign. Cant wait till i can pull that kind of power out of a Z.

Good find man.

It may verywell be a 3.5L internally, but the extarnals all say VQ30DET, intake, coil packs, and it dosent appear to have the cariable cam timing.

That engine was probably acquired off of a wrecked r34.

I'm going to have to second the motion and ask why in hell anyone would swap an rb out for a vq. In this r34's case, it is unnecessary weight increase in a car that is already combating a weight problem. Also, it is swapping out a powerful, proven engine for an engine with less current potential; few vq's have eclipsed 600hp while many rb's beat 800hp. I guess that the japanese have some pretty funky tastes along the way of engine swaps--evidenced by the rb-powered supra!
