Default Just got my tranny replaced but...

I have a 2003 6spd manual model and it only has 15k miles on it. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the tranny for me. As a bonus they also replaced all the tires for me as well. So the main question I have is how is the shifting suppose to feel? This is my very first car that is stick and I never drove stick before. So i don't know if this is normal BUT when i left the car get anywhere between 3500 rpm-6000 rpm and i shift it to the next gear it seems to grind. It is especially rough shifting it when i get close to 6000 rpm. is this normal?

yes, it's normal. all cars grind shifting into every gear at any rpm. why do you ask?

Default Same problem

It doesn't seem like an outrageous question to me, I'm in the exact same position as Indierock and I've been looking for the answer as well.

It seems like everytime I ask I get lambasted for not driving stick before and don't get my question answered.

There shouldn't be any grinding. Take it back to the dealer and tell them it grinds or they'll have to put a new tranny pretty soon again!.

let me actually correct my previous statement. The car is smooth shifting BUT it is rough and sometimes grind when I shift from 1st gear to 2nd gear at an rpm of 3500 +. So with that being said, is this normal?

no. take it back to them. if they say they can't replicate the grind, take the service manager/tech on a ride and show him how it grinds. if they still won't do anything talk to NNA. if they still won't budge get a lawyer.
