You're the first to think of this.

Quick hint the &highlight=RB26DETT at the end of the URL means it was SEARCHED USING THE SEARCH FEATURE IN FORUMS MENU.

It would work well, but if you want a good recepient for the rb26dett, source a '68 Mustang hatchback...

Squall, jokes aside, in one of these threads the guy from CJM posted something to the effect of "get me a GTR front clip and 15G" and he'll get your conversion done. Yes, CJM is pricey, but a cheaper shop's labor will have to be done over, so might as well get it right the first time. Take into consideration that all that it will get you is a STOCK RB26DETT in a Z. That engine is NOT CHEAP to modify. Add the costs of buying, shipping, disposal of the clip, and you'll know why noone has done it. It is an interesting hybrid, no doubt, but it makes sence only if you are a tuning company and need a demo car to show off your skills.
Take that budget and see where it will take you if keep the VQ where it's at and you'll get your answer.

Neither is the VQ. If anything the RB is less expensive to mod than the VQ. IS it worth the swap? I say **** yes it is. I wouldn't think you know any more than people who have actually done research.

And CJM is charging 15k? 20k complete cost. Anyways go to the FI forum and see how much guy with built motors spent..25-30k. Talk about a complete ripoff. I would expect 15k for the whole swap or maybe less. At least here in Orlando there are places that can get the swap done. You'll spend about 5k on a front clip and have 10k left for driveshaft, wiring harness, mounts, etc which should be enough. At least here in Central Florida. Places like SoCal people would probably pay much more.
