Did you check level right when you got your V2 or when you got it home?
12mm = .5qts which is why that was the first thing I thought of.

Maybe try topping it off to F then see where it's at another 500.
Im hoping that is right. I did not check it at all until now. The service rep said the tech topped off the oil after they drove it for 30 miles. I really dont want to top if off, I know where its at and its right in the middle of the H and L marks. If it drops down to the low mark by a 1000, I will be going back to Nissan. One thing I am wondering is, does Nissan dyno these new V2 motors before they send them out? This is just so frustrating!!!! Thanks guys for all of your help

I can confirm as well. The mechanic that did my sway used to work at an Infiniti dealership, in Nashville I believe, and he had done 4 swaps in G35 coupes. He also stated that a brand new V2 needed about 5 1/2 quarts to be at the H mark.

Default Where in the world has ZeeForce been?

Hey guys I have been offline for the last two months due to my computer has been out of commission and I have been out of town on business.

I am in the process of updating the first page and the big change will be all updates to the Install Stats List will have to be pm’d to me. Sorry guys I do not have the time anymore (due to my job) to troll the thread for new engine installee’. After I revamp the first page I will post up the instructions on filling out the stats list update template. I will post it here and have a link to it for future reference. The updates posted in my absence will need to be pm’d to me, I did catch a few updates on the last few posts. So when the Stats Lists is updated along with the revamp of page one and you do not see your update, then pm me with the info.

(06CPV35) I have several links to post on the first page from your Break-In Stats along with many more links. I will give you a call to work out the formatting and limitation on attachments allowed per post. Hopefully, once your Stats List is posted on the first page that more will contribute.

I am looking for some good documentation, whether it is first hand experience or a good understanding of the Buy-Back Process, to add a link from the first page to the post. PM me if anyone out there is interested in taking on this task or still online that has gone through the process and can write up some TIPS. Keep in mind that the TIPS have to apply for all the states, as each state has their own set of rules regarding the Lemon Law. I feel this is a large topic these days and we need a one stop source (post or link to a post) to assist members on getting off with at least a good start with the vehicle buy-back process. Many have posted questions as to where is the info and the responses have been “it’s out there in the 150 pages of info and to search for it”. I would like to have someone step up to the plate and offer their experience, and write it down so I can post a link to the first page. My suggestion would be for the member(s) to pm me and work offline to fine tune it, as opposed to just posting it up here and saying here it is. I would prefer not to have any input or hand in this documentation.

How does this idea of working up some tips and process documentation, for the buy-back sound?

I am not taking credit for the idea, as it has been mentioned many times before by other members that have moved on with their lives and left the thread/site/forum.

At your service
Curtis

Default TSB revised - NTB07-088c

TSB has been updated to version xxxxxC

The only thing amended in the revised TSB is the part number for the oil filter, it was changed. It was the wrong part # all along.

The Infiniti G35 TSB was also updated to xxxxxC. It’s for a different type amendment.

They added to the flow chart at the beginning with” Acceptable oil change history available?” and added a “YES” that skips steps 1-11. This means the owner can get an engine replacement on the first visit without having to go through the check dipstick and tell user to come back after 1000 miles. (That is if there is a history record of oil changes on file with the dealer, with OC tests and reading recorded). We all know especially with a lot of peeps today that the dealer has been calling NNA for approval of the engine replacement when the TSB states “order replacement engine”. I am curious to hear from the G cousins after this new revision.

Hey (06CPV35)^, what a coincidence that the G35 TSB revision was released the same day (5/20/8) you got approved for a replacement engine.

Makes you wonder, that they could not jerk you any longer.

Here is the revised TSB version “C” released 4/28/8

^Yeh, maybe have some cards printed up to place on their door, similar to You've Been Spotted.

Except these would say:

Got Oil?

Exclamation

I will eventually make a my own thread but cliff notes:

My 06 had a little over 27k on it when it had an issue...
It just shut off after making a rattle noise, something with a rod..(bent, broke, not sure..)

I was asked to show my service records, which I did, and was informed they ordered a new engine, will have it this week, and will take est. 2 days to put in.

Should have my Z back by next weekend. Pissed about not having my car for the holiday, but atleast it is getting a heart transpant..

BTW: They said when the nissan rep inspected it, and it may have been a faulty oil filter. That I "should come in to the dealership and buy their filter", it has something special in it it, I forget what he said..

Haha...yeah, makes me wonder. Will probably never know either, no matter.
Took a long time, but finally got approved Same date...very interesting

Thanx ZeeForce for the plug, but for many reasons I can no longer maintain and manage that stats study.
In all honesty, there are way too many variables involved and many other methods not even listed.
So with that said, I have abolished the study and have swept the idea under the rug.

Wish to thank all the members who contributed in the past to that cause.
Thanks for your past support and was greatly appreciated.

It was and still is a good idea. It must have taken a lot of time to maintain the list. I do understand your reasons. Your efforts are appreciated.

I went to nissan a few days ago. I had them check my oil and they said I lost about 7mm after 2000 miles. When I checked today there is no way I only lost 7mm. I washed the car today and I let it sit for a good hour while I was drying the car. When I pulled the dipstick its showing in the middle of H and L. Based on the chart that is more than 7mm wtf

Go with them to the service bay and check with them. That's the only way to really know what's going on.

When I have go to the dealer to get the many...many oil consumption test, I dont let the car out of my sight. When its time to check the oil, I go with them to do it. I look at the dipstick, and watch when they measure. I even bring my own ruler (last time they had a hard time finding a MM ruler). I did this again this Saturday, and I was short 9mm in 1100 miles. That is in the bad zone. According to Nissans new TSB (4/28/08), I should be inline for a new engine. But wait....that would be the 3rd engine in my 26,000 mile car....not happening. The only option is buyback. The service manager was calling NNA to tell them I needed another engine, and they know I am not going to take it. My lawyer has informed them of what I want. Expecting a buyback offer soon.

Let me know how that goes. My second engine started it's oil consumption test today. I know it's going to fail because when I brought it in today, I had 2,175 miles since my last oil change and was 1/2 qt. low after having added a qt. 4 weeks ago. They also ordered me a new tranny today because mine is grinding from 5th to 6th. Grinding on a 2nd or 3rd gear shift indicates possible abuse, but 5th to 6th with no grinding in other gears means bad tranny. So, with 28K miles, my car will be on it's 3rd engine and second tranny. Basically, my resale value is shot to hell. If anyone pulls a Carfax on my car, I'm not going to be able to ever sell it.

So, let me know if your buyback happens. If it does, I'd appreciate any info you could give me, like your name and city, so I can show a precedent.

So if they buy it back are you going to get a 2008 Z?

probably not....looking for something bigger. This is my second 350z, and I might be over the 2 seater thing. I am married, and have a house now, and just need room for stuff. I am not to the point (or have the room) where I can have the Z as a weekend car, and drive something else. So this means some sort of sporty sedan. Really looking at the G35 sedan, Lexus IS 350, and even something a little different.....the Audi A3.

In regards to dipstick readings...30 min as per the TSB is not enough time. Proven that many times over with the dealer. Suggest leaving the car parked there (secured spot) overnight on a flat surface, keys in hand. The next morning all three (yourself, service manager and technician) check it together.

Oil consumption on my brother' is SoFarSoGood.....5mm on last oil change interval of 3,223 miles ...7,603 total miles on new engine.

If and when the time comes to make that decision, it will have been a cheap lease on the car. Then go for a replacement to the current model at the time, which will be the 2010. No buy-back, a replacement has more benefits.

Why would your car be out of warranty at 32k miles? The warranty is 60 months or 60k miles, which ever comes first. If you have 32k miles, then you are still under warranty. If there is an oil consumption issue, then get it into the dealer ASAP, so they can record it on your file that you are consuming oil. This recording on your file is important as it indicates when the problem was first reported and ensures you get top dollar when and if you have to go buy-back.

There is a link on the first page that describes Nissans Program Summary under the BBB. The TSB can also be found on the first page.
