I just installed the mrev2 and 5/16 spacers a few days. When they replace the engine they don't actually change the whole thing do they? Just the long block?

errrr...tough to give advise on...do not want to stear down the wrong path...It really depends on the dealer and your rapport with them. A lot of peeps have just taken them off. If it was just a spacer, then no problem, they will just swap with the new engine.

Oil consumption on my brother' is SoFarSoGood.....5mm on last oil change interval of 3,223 miles ...7,603 total miles on new engine.

If and when the time comes to make that decision, it will have been a cheap lease on the car. Then go for a replacement to the current model at the time, which will be the 2010. No buy-back, a replacement has more benefits.

Before i went to the dealer this past weekend, i had been checking the oil every morning, and the readings were about 10mm down. So the 9mm that they measured this weekend was about right. Who has time to leave their car at the dealer overnight? I know I don't.

I would take the mods off. Alot of service shops like to blame things on mods. the less they have to blame the oil consumption on the better. I am happy with my service manager, but I have been dealing with him for a long time. He understands that this is not right, and has done everything he could to make it right.

For clarification, warranty in USA is 3 years 36 K bumper to bumper, and 5 years 60K for powertrain.

True so very true, if I did not find this website I would not know anything about the TSB b/c Nissan does not come right out and tell you. Also, even if by chance if the dealership did say something - my first engine replacement was another V1 and that was after the TSB was released. Needless to say the next day a V2 was ordered and then replaced a week later. What a pain this has been.

ATT:ZEEFORCE,first and formost whats up and how is everything and know for something totaly differant.
Oil Consumption:8-9mm
Engine Install Date:12/5/07
Engine part number:10102-AC7MZ-v2
Mileage on Engine:17xxx
Mileage on current oil change interval:2065
Oil Type/Brand/Weight:nissan 10w30
OK I know I have not been posting much in here but, I read this thread everytime I log in to keep updated. Just wanted to to give some stats so far I have actualy been enjoying my car. I know I have not put a ton of miles on but its hard when I don't drive the car to work, so basicly I only drive it when I am going some where and I am not driving the wifes car, can't fit everything in the Z so we take her car for most needs.
So far my oil consumption falls in the good range and hope it stays there.
As for everyone else good luck, with engine swaps, buy backs and dealing with the nna

Good luck, unfortunately I found out that others who were posting consumption increased with mileage were correct. Mine got progressively worse until the 3rd required oil change on the V2 was far outside TSB guidelines....... about 1 1/2 quart in my guesstimate, maybe a little more. Now I am on another consumption test.

Thumbs down

Imagine how the sales of our monZters would skyrocket if Nissan fixed all the little annoyances, huh?!!! They oughta be smarter & correct those frustrating peeves! 'Cause otherwise they're excellent cars!!!

GOD I hate to hear that!!!! sounds like I'll be checking it longer then I hoped to will it ever end, for me if this does not work I'll be going the buy back route this time and well I hate to say this but I also have a friend with an 04 that eats a qt of oil per oil change and I hate to see this get progressivly worse for me so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for me and for you John, hope something good comes out of this for you man

Quite frankly, I am not concern at all for 1 quart per oil change.
