I have noticed that the valvetrain is a little quieter. Have to bring it back to the dealer as there is a knocking noise when I brake. It only sounds when I am about to come to a full stop. Sounds like it is coming from the tranny tunnel, the right front or left front. Seems to move around.

Only have 20 miles on it since pick up so can't even monitor OC just yet.

I inderstand! My is geting what ZeeForce like to call a "Tea pot" sound that tends to indicate that a tranny will be needed sometime in the near future.

At which time I'll be switching to the Nismo lightweight clutch, plate & disc.

So my question to all is, has anyone done a buyback in Pennsylvania? I'm on ony second engine (first V2) with concerns of OC. Only have about 4K on it but I am tracking in the wrong direction. The last 3K mi it consumed 22mm. I am monitoring it for another 3K to see the trend.

I am also on my 3rd transmission. First one had a winter cold bearing squeel at warmup, documented within the first 12mo. Second one was mis-diagnosed by dealer after V2 swap. Id had a snap noise on hard brakeing, they called it the tranny, new tranny did not fix, I found a suspension nut under-torqued. Fixed it myself.

Considering a buyback, need advise.

hey everyone i was wondering how long did it take for you guys to get your car back from replacing the engine?

second question is how many miles did they put on your car? I think they put around 300 miles on mine but on the print sheet they typed the date at which i got it and have no record of anythign else. im thinkign they either put those miels on the old engine or they put it on the new one. Can anyoen help me out

^^^ They should not put any miles on your car... you should be the one to "break it in" not them. I got my car back with the same miles that I got it in. I made sure of that.

It is a bit late now, what's done is done! However, make sure that when you bring the car in the next time that they document the miles going in and coming out. There are instances which will require them to road test the car, in which case you should have minimal miles on it. But not 300 miles. It seems as though they took the car home for the weekend to shof off to me.

I noted my odo when I dropped mine off. Got back with ~13mi more on it. They drove mine a little for QC reasons (no leaks, etc, etc)

Yea...my final paper work showed mileage when I picked it up, not when dropped off. Hopefully that 300 was on your old VQ and not on your V2 and wasn't joy rided. No legit reason for that much ever no matter what dealer was servicing/repairing/replacing

I found out that my V2 has a broken crankshaft and will be replaced. I wonder if that qualifies for Lemon Law since it'll be my 3rd engine.

oh mine took a lot longer, liek a week and 2 days
so you would know if the crankshaft is broken if it doesnt perform right or how does that work, something to do with flywheel?

so apparently the crankshaft is cracked due to poor installation during the build... i'm not sure what kind of damage is done to the engine with a broken crank... i just noticed its was revving a little higher rpm, more chatter, and sluggish a couple of days before i brought it into the dealer.... i've always thought if i ever had to get a 3rd engine it would be another OC issue, but not a crankshaft issue... basically the dealer didn't really tell me exactly how it broke... either poor casting or installation...??

I wonder if 3 engines qualify for buy-back.

alright so if you get certain amount of engine replacements, whats up with the lemon law? they buy your car from you for the market value or for how muich you purchased it for?
