I have to agree with the search! Although I have never heard of the Z needing an upgrade from it's carbon OEM shaft. Here kitty kitty...

The "Search" forum returns no aftermarket driveshafts . The only thing I've found( on my own) is to have a custom one made at the Driveshaft Shop. For those of you who will ever need to replace the u joint, Nissan requires you to buy a whole new driveshaft assembly.(aprox $600.00)

Is that why you are looking for an aftermarket shaft, cause you need a new u-joint?

Yes! There are also some limitations on what the OEM will withstand with regards to RWHP coming off the line.

I was already aware of the driveshaft that Philthy had made for his G35. I had already called that # you mentioned and found out that the driveshaft he had made still had the stock ends which means I wouldn't be able to change u-joints down the line. They were very receptive though in coming up with something that would work for me.

The reason I started this thread was I wanted to make sure someone wasn't already producing a good quality driveshaft for the 350z .

I know that driveshaftshop's carbon shaft one is pretty impressive for the STi.

I don't know if this applies to the 350Z but for my S13 I found a local shop that was more then willing to make me a driveshaft using the ends that I had. So if you can find a shop local you might be set. I live in a smaller town as well. Price was very good compared to driveshaft shop. Check with the local Speed Shops and get some recommendations.
