I think you'd break the Nissan rear with half the torque you're going to be making. The rear in the Vette is much stronger and they crap out around 600-700 Lb/Ft. There are NO IRS rear ends that'll hold that kind of TQ. Don't even waste your money on parts for your rear. You're going to need a shortened Ford 9". Even Chevy guys run the Ford rear. It's the only one made that'll handle 1,000+ Lb/Ft. To hit 1,400 HP, you're going to have to make at least 1,000 Lb/Ft. It's a mathematical certainty.

Well, since he is setting a new bar for 350Z owners he might as well do the Z owners a favor and see what the Z's rear can handle but plan for a new rear soon. heh

u haven't hear of supras? irs and holding up to hundreds of 9 and 8 sec passes on 1000+whp supras, the 13-1500 whp supras put down 1000+wtq

noah, 1400 whp and ur still going with a 3.9? i think chevy may have been on to something when they put in super long gearing on the z06, and its power is just how much more ur making over the 1000whp mark, u may wanna take some advice about looking into 3.3 gears, or even longer

yeah the 3.9 is a stupid choice for that much power for so many reasons. I have the 3.9 and make 383 tq and I lose traction in first gear and sometimes 2nd if it's really cold outside. If you can't use the power, no one will give a damn. Might as well drive a top fuel car with bicycle tires

traction will be that much harder, and if you did run some big slicks so that you might be able to get traction, you'll just be more likely to break an axle.

Most of them are running solid rears and either TH400 transmissions or Powerglides.

iguess u haven't heard of them, most of them are running stock rear or trd diff's, but yes there are a few all out compete drag cars that r running solid rear ends, but there are plenty running stock manual tranny and rear end and running 9's and even a few in the 8's (ryan woon, wotm car runs 8's one stock drivetrain)

but hey, lets not turn this thread into a war about transmissions and rear ends

If the car's going to SEMA, see if ATI will supply a blower in exchange for allowing them to place it in their booth and use it for advertising.

waiting to see the thread...

"Well, My 454 CI Car Shipped In Today!"

Technically that will make it a 750Z!

Wouldn't it be nice if they were all made that way.
Sheeeit.
