So I guess you geniuses don't know as much as you think after all.

G'day
Actually, if you reread your own post, you equated this new VB to be causing high heat which you need the tranny cooler for. So if you got a quality VB upgrade, you might not need the tranny cooler.

Doesn't the VB produce more heat the harder it shifts?

Most of the heat produced by the transmission comes from the torque converter.

Excellent choice. I went with the 500cfm fan and it works great. I would say based upon the OP desired power level the 350cfm would be fine. Any kind of hard driving really stresses the auto trans and temps rise fairly quick.

If you cannot get the valve body upgrade from FP any longer I would then highly recommend SGP. The underlying consistent message from those with experience is do NOT get the Level 10.

I'm going with level 10 will you guys please just let it rest. It is the only practical choice i have sgp doesn't offer a deal where you can pay a refundable deposit to have them ship it to you before they get yours. I have to get my car back. Its my daily driver. Now please just drop it. Thanks for the info on the tranny cooler I'll check out the 350cfm

I don't see how you can do a VB swap since you have a 2005. Your TCM is integrated into the VB. You need your VB modified. If you swap, you run the risk of them sending back a pre 2004.5 VB which won't have a TCM, or how do you expect your car to run when if you get a TCM isn't synched to your ECU?

Torque converters generate much more heat than valve bodies.

What good is cheap & quick turnaround time if you buy a crap part that increases the likelihood (versus your stock tranny) of a transmission failure that will lead to even greater downtime (and inconvenience) with your daily driver??? Do it right the first time!!!

Seriously... THESE GUYS ARE TRYING TO HELP YOU!!! Like the moderator Wired 24/7 already alluded to... you seem to be too stubborn to realize it.

Good luck with your choice.

ok I am hearing what you guys are saying. That being said the part has been purchased. I have to go with what I have right now. I will write up a full report on this VB after a few weeks of use and acknowledge all of you guys for telling me it was crap if the part doesn't work for me. I'm not even arguing that the part is good, and maybe if I would have had this input before I paid for it I would have done something different but for now can you guys please just accept that I'm stuck with what I got?

I believe this is the one I got (14,400 btu):

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

And will hopefully be installed right in front of the radiator so a separate fan will not be necessary.

Will a fan be necessary if it is receiving a good flow of air? I am planning on where the wiper reservoir was, and taking out the reflector to allow a nice flow of air directly onto the tranny cooler.

Well, if you've got enough airflow, then no, you would not need the fan.

Question is, how much is enough.

I want the radiator fan to cool my tranny cooler - we'll see if that's possible. That way, if I want more cooling, I can just get the radiator fan to turn on earlier.

Oh, and I will have a tranny (magnetic) filter in place also (magnefine brand).

Cancel the L10 order. If you can't, sell it immediately and thank yourself for doing so.

Update: Road in the car last night at 5 psi. Car feels strong and VB shifts fine. Will update again when tuned and running at 7-8 psi
