Scared of Repair costs!!! Help
Guys I have an 03 and I have been having problems like crazy, I have been throwing codes nonstop, the O2 sensors have all been replaced, the MAF the plugs PCV valve all replaced, no vac leaks, but I keep throwing a 171 for lean bank one and for the O2 sensor. Nissan has it now and they said that the guy is tracing wires WTF is going on and has anyone ever heard of this!!! Its the driver side O2 on the header
Could this be a bad cat I do get a slight rattle sound from under the driver side but when I push the clutch in it stops

100k/7year ext oem Warranty are a good deal on aggressively driven cars.
AS is setting up a mainteance and repair savings account where 8-10 cents per mile driven from day one is set aside to pay for the wear and tear items that fail just after 100k warranty runs out.
Could be a salt rusted rattling cat cover [Indiana]

One normally looks at the O2 electronic waveform on a digital oscilloscope to check if one of the cylinders is leaner than average vs all leaner than the other bank [O2].
Important to understand the software method OBD2 uses to flag codes and what parameter is exceeded.
Unfortunate even Master Technicans are not software or electronic engineers and usually only one of techs at each dealership could be consider a Master Tech and your odds of getting him is small. They let the trainees try first and second then maybe the MT will find time.
Being an MSEE I approach automotive technology different from those at dealerships.
Unfortunately Nissan doesn't pay for diagnosis unless some defective warranty part is found and replaced............no money for fishing exploration, so it rarely gets done, as people have a living to make.

Pull plugs and read them, compare plugs from bank 1 vs bank 2 and also compare the plugs from bank 1 against one another. This may tell you if it is a specific cylinder or a problem with the bank as a whole, or if your problem is originating with the o2 sensor itself. Or, it may tell you nothing if the problem is not significant enough/not in existance long enough to make an impact on plug color...
You could also swap all bank 1 injectors to bank 2 and vice versa, clear codes and reset ecu, and see if it throws a new code, and if so for what (if it throws same code but bank 2 after this you can pretty much figure its an injector issue).
Both of these are easy to do on your own and can help you narrow down the things that may be causing the CEL.

The only thing I would burn to the ground is the dealership with all the f*%*&$& idots that work there in it. But I did findout one thing the O2 on the bank one is running at 96% and the other at 100% I guess the heater isnt working and could be the cause. I also found out that an animal chewed on one of the O2s after the cat but surprisingly that has nothing to do with the problem. But I am now going on day 7 waiting for an answer on what is wrong.. OH!!! and the replacement O2 sensors were all lost in transit from chicago to Northwest IN like 25 minute drive......
