I can't find smaller hoses so i used the 15mm hose on the passenger side of the crankcase.

here are some pictures. i can see how the oil vapor discolor the tubes though. it's crushed only when the engine is running but back to the normal size when u step on the accel or shut off the engine ( is it because of the vac during idling etc that is causing it to crushed)

No it will not hurt your engine.Greddy used some cheap hoses with there catch cans so i would ditch those and get some braided steel hoses.

 

Those hoses look cheap and weak as ****... Hell, they're already almost pinched shut.

Do yourself a favor and buy some new hoses.

 

Plus one. I have the same can except I bought mine with 9MM fittings not the 15mm ones and picked up stainless braided hose at the auto parts store.

Works great, no kinks. I Don't have a bigger pic at the moment.

 

My original ones were very similar....collapsing when hot- get some braided jobs....

 

thanks for the info guys , dumb *** dubai doesnt have autozone or any car parts store . they doesnt even know what is gas hoses.......sigh , i miss USA parts store galore.

the only hardware store ACE hardware here doesnt even have engine oil , just polish and wax stuff , can u imagine?


back to my question , can i leave it as is first? cause i still can't find replacement hoses.....

 

Even though it's all crushed and looks like a rats nest, I'm sure it's still allowing air to flow through it.

Even though it's pretty much collapsed, those hoses are for the most part pretty stiff (at least at room temp) and doubt they will totally collapse to the point it blocks off all air flow, unless the engine bay gets really hot and softens the hose. So I'd imagine you could leave it that way till you get new hoses.

 

Chad68: well seeing how it is supposed to be "reinforce" with the linings within the hose i thought it should be strong ..... it does expand when i rev the engien up ( more volume of air going through it?)

Will appreciate anyone with advice that would like to chime in cause i tried 4 shops with no luck yet =\ .

 

When you rev the engine you lose vacuum, so you get no flow, which is why the hoses reform.

 

rcdash: yea that's my thoughts too , but will it harm the engine under vac ( idle etc?)

and when i replace it with braided hoses , i have to replace the entire red plug? anyone know what measurement i need?

 

Not really, if you're not boosted I don't think crankcase pressure is going to skyrocket.

The red piece does not need to change. Just loosen the clamp, take the catch can with you to advance auto parts and find fuel injection hose that fits.

 

rcdash: i wish im in US bro. i can go to any auto parts store. the problem is im at dubai... hence no such luxury. they dont even know what a freaking fuel hose is in ACE hardware ( the only commercial hardware shop in dubai)
