AT making weird sound when going to reverse
Guys,
When I start the car up and put into Reverse, I hear a chain like sound coming from the back. The car hasn't moved. It is when I changed the gear.
It only happens once during the drive. Once I get out of the garage I cannot duplicate again until the next time (seems like the first start of each day)

It has 30k miles. Its going to be so hard to prove it to the dealership.

Is this normal? The car isn't moving. Just changing the gear the first time seems to make that noise.

You may not be moving but in an auto power is always being applied to the rear wheels so once you put it in a gear (reverse is a gear) that power gets pushed to the wheels, but since the brake is on your car doesn't move, but it still makes the sound.
I dunno though a sound like a chain moving? That might be a different problem. You can take it to the dealership and have them check it out, if it is the rear axle clicking it's a TSB and they have to replace the grease inside the diff I believe.

Its very hard to describe but it just does this once during the day when I pull out of the garage.
I just came from the garage and started the car. I waited until 2 minutes and the "chain" noise came up. The sound definitely comes from the back and below.
