not revving over 2500 is limp mode. it is probably NOT your tranny, but more likely to be an MAF or other critical sensor failure

Is your check engine light on bro? Also you may want to take your car to the dealer or performance shope for an overhaul..spark plugs and new fluids...

Questions:
Check engine light on?
After market rims?
how many miles on the car?
last spark plug change?

Sounds like fail safe mode (aka "limp" mode). Check for CEL codes (even if CEL light not on using a code reader).
