Default Is This A Joke?!?!

A month ago I took my car in for a grinding fifth gear. That's all. Carsense sent my car out to a tranny shop that replaced the syncros bearings and CLUTCH. I got the car back 2 weeks later and it sounded TERRIBLE. There was so much clutch chatter I could barely think. (less than a month ago, ~1000 miles)

3 Days ago I couldn't stand it anymore so I took my car to a local nissan dealership. They call me back and say that the clutch cover fingers are broken, and there is significant damage to the clutch disc and flywheel. WTF that does NOT sound like a good repair job to me. Needless to say, the service department at Nissan is in contact with Carsense and going to let me know how we are going to proceed.

Does anybody know how I should react to this? I feel as if the tranny shop/carsense is now indebted to me in some fashion (new trans maybe?)

Hope nobody else has had to deal with this ********.

It's not a very funny joke...

If a poor repair leads to significant damage, my guess is that the shop owes you for the damages you incurred. But I'm not all that edumucated when it comes to body shops.

Or any kind of repair shop, really.

I've never had anyone else work on my cars, so I don't know how things go with it.

*le sigh*

Edumucated is my attempt at a funny. Obviously WAY over the head.

And as I stated, I don't have other people work on my car so I don't know what you call the shops. I apologize if my ability to rebuild an engine at home has put you off.

Now that the trolls are fed, to the OP: It sounds to me like their repairs cause additional damage and I would think that if you can prove it, you should have a case.

EDIT: By the way, bringing your rage from another thread into someone else's is pretty lame.

That's what I was thinking. A friend of me explained that the issues I stated in the OP put serious strain on the drivetrain and therefore may warrant the replacement of components.

He's mad at me from the "17 year old kids driving a Z" thread.

To the OP: I've heard about shops doing crumby jobs so that you will have to return for future service. I don't know how common that is. More likely someone just didn't do the job very well. Either way, you shouldn't have to shell out for the fix.

Hey man, there's a radio advertisement that I heard with a number to call if you think you have had a shady job done on your vehicle. I dont think its a lawyer firm looking to make money either, it sounded like some anti fraud agency, google it.

Thanks. As of now, the car is being taken back to the shop that did the job where supposedly they will overhaul everything and pick it apart and fix it all. It better be done RIGHT this time, or else I think I will be calling a lawyer...
