Default Oil Pressure Guage Pod Reading 120+ CONSTANTLY

Hi guys, I just purchased a 350z for a really good price but one problem I noticed when looking at it was the guage reading of 120+ constantly. I thought it was overfilled with oil so I took it to a local oil change place and had them replace the oil. Still had the same problem. So I assume there is nothing major wrong with the car? its just the gauge or some sensor? or could it be something massive?

THANKS !!!

and since its my first post, hi to all !

hummmm? mines always at 90 usually.....will get to 120 at times, but typically its free floating and moves as you shift, increase speed, etc, but usually around 90......

yeah I know it should give varaible readings depending on hot/cold and or driving load. mine starts and stays at 120 + regardless of any variables.
it basically is pegged out.

what year Z and how many miles? try replacing the oil pressure sensor. should be a quick, easy and cheap check, and wouldnt hurt to do so anyway.

its the sensor. When it goes bad it defaults to 120+

there are other threads about this. You may be able to find someone with the same probably and see how it turned out for them

You only get 1 mulligan, and this is it.

Turn the key to the on position WITHOUT starting up the car. If the needle goes right to 120 you need a new oil pressure sending unit. Its located right by the oil filter.
