Default Just finished valve guide seals...strange noise

So today after waiting forever for parts/istalling new valve guide seals, a used camshaft from another member and new camshaft buckets to get my valve clearance back in check, I fired my car up for the first time today. Between 1500/2000 rpm, I notice a slight tapping coming from the same vicinity of my new camshaft buckets...my question is- is this normal since they are new buckets and aren't "broken in" or something? It's just a slight tap...

Clearance set too loose on 1 or 2 buckets

Impossible. I did all the measuring before before intallation, ordered the appropriate sized buckets and measured again after installation if new buckets to make sure I was within specs.

To confirm, see if you can isolate which bank the tapping is coming from & remove cam cover & recheck clearance.
It's not normal to have tapping noises around the camshaft area

The more I listen to it, the more noises I pick up lol. Now theres a whine or whirring sound coming from the front timing cover...kinda sounds like a roots supercharger is in there...any possible suggestions anyone?

I would double check the tolerances... a little bit of tapping is normal
whirring noise is possibly timing chain noises or the oil squirter that sprays on the crank gear

awesome, thanks for the heads up. I wasn't even aware there was an oil squirter for the crank gear. I'll pull the cover back off and check everything out.
