Default Battery and Transmission Issues

i have 05 roadster with 90xxx. Just hit the 90k mark. Its an automatic tranny

lately the car i have noticed when I am in tiptronic it will randomly just end up switching automatically to "D" also i have noticed in drive at times the car will not shift gears, it will either be stuck in 3rd or 4th gear. I have to basically come to a completely stop and than it will be back to normal. this will happen whenever I try to go over 4k RPM's. I have a 3.5 pumpkin swap on it. What could be causing for the transmission to not shift or the tip tronic to go automatically to D and when it does that, the gears are stuck

Also this has happened twice, the car's battery dies, The first time it just after 10 mins automatically started. Today it happened again and I had to jump it. One thing I noticed is when I get it back started, the car's Trip meter has been reset. Like the radio stations have not not been but just the trip meter...the way I noticed that is because I reset that everytime I fill up and I saw it reset both times when this happened.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad connection, possibly in the battery area. I had something like that on a car a while back, it was a bad battery terminal. Could also be a corroded battery wire.

I would suggest buying a new battery. The one in your car is probably close to dead.

I guess I am going to get the battery changed.

What about the transmission issue, do you think weirdly oddly enough it could be related to the battery issue or not?

get a new battery but have someone check the battery cables that knows what to look for...pillowed and corrodded wires under the sheathing........the black lining will be pillowed..etc...follow the wires to the starter, etc and check all points for good connection and grounds...

Is it still having problems or did it clear up. Bad connection, computer controlled transmission, and bad shifting. Very possible the connection was the problem.
