I really do not want to offend, but I think its a very unattractive logo that I wouldn't want to make the "highlight" of the center of my engine bay.
I did not mean for this to be an offensive attack vs. Kinetix racing, I believe you guys are working hard to launch some great products. But its one thing to have a subtle brand marque, this is too much. You can tell your marketing department if the logo stays that large I will not purchase this product. Its just too big & ugly.

Looks are subjective. Some people love the Pontiac Aztec. Based on previous posts, it sounded like the product name was going to be done in tasteful manner.... I guess there are different levels of taste. Unfortunately I must agree that the giant Kinetix logo has me reconsidering the purchase of this plenum regardless of the benefits. Maybe a polished aluminum plate...

but to each his own...
I dont want to dwell on this topic, as I have already given my feedback on this,
BUT I think it might be good to note why some people didnt buy the Crawford plenum.
1. It removes the OEM Strut
2. It might be considered ugly
Now the new plastic plenum keeps the OEM Strut , good work.
But the large logo may have similar reprocussions as the Crawford design to some(not everyone). Im not saying the logo design is ugly(Not at all), just the way its implemented may not look the best to some ie its large, and its not cut out very clearly and hence doesnt look very nice.
So to capitalise on both of the crawfords differences, it may be worth doing one with a smaller, clearer logo?
Your sales could only increase as the others who dont mind the large logo would still buy it if it had a smaller logo.

There IS a lot of good logic in this post....
The logo issue is an interesting one. I understand why some people would not like the big logo. I think your comparison to the crawford is valid, however, in addition to the strut issue, the decisive factor for me was the core issue. I think that both the low price (hint...hint...at least lower than crawford) and the lack of core exchange will be the largest selling factors of this plenum. Let us not forget that all of this is riding on the dynos that we see from all_bark, so lets cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Honestly, I am not too fond of the big logo, then common sense kicks in and tells me that 1) this part goes under the hood, not on top of it and 2) I purchased this plenum primarily for the performance and also other secondary issues as I mentioned earlier. Sure some people will not buy the logo due to its looks, but I think that those people's numbers are insignificant when compared to those who are looking for performance. Read this thread, almost all of the discussion had been about performance....that's what we all keep logging on for, right?
As unsightly as the logo may seem, I would certainly not mind if it was smaller, but I don't think that will detract me from purchasing the plenum. Now, if this logo gets any bigger...........we'll talk more!!!!!!

I agree with the rest of you post as well BTW. The primary reason I hadn't even considered the Crawford was the way it looked, not the core exchange. I'm interested in power but looks are important as well.

I think it was mentioned in another thread that the logo is actually cleanly cut and it was just the photo that made it look otherwise.
Sorry, I must have missed that. But if the photo isnt an accurate depiction, then what do we rely on? Maybe we need clearer photos.
I think scubasteve thinks looks are more important than he is letting on, check out his sig.

The mold is not going to change, therefor the logo will be on the plenum indefinately.
I am really sorry if that would be the deciding factor in the case of the plenum. I can understand this, I can also accept this. There would be no way I could satisfy everyone, so we try to satisfy as many people as we can, as well as put ourselves in a position to succeed.
I simply cant afford to do multiple molds, with logo, without, without strut bar dip, etc.
This is what we have decided to enter into the market with. We may come out with other versions in the future that may not have dips for strut bars or logos, but that would be much further down the line.
The logo was purposely made to have "softer" lines. We could have done well defined sharp lines that are cut into the plastic, but didnt think it would flow well considering there are no sharp lines in the plenum. We decided so soften up all the lines, including the reinforcement plates. We also thought that when done in a deep black plastic color, the softer logo would not be as obstrusive. It really does not stand out that much when installed, especially under the strut bar and engine cover.
but come on guys!! didnt you like the little square bullets at each corner of the reinforcement plates!! I thought they were cool!!

Thanks apilson. (for the link.)
lsdunique dont get us wrong, you've done a great job with the plenum, we are only discussing the size of the logo here. Not the physical look of the plenum(once black).

You know what I really like the best about the plenum is the little square bullets at each corner!
Better now! j/k
Keep up the great work. Good products, good service is what it's all about and I applaud the business approach you have taken. Keep this going and you have yourself the start of some brand loyalty.
BTW...this has been one of the best treads so far on this site because it really shows what a car forum shared by vendors and consumers alike can produce.

Wow, some of you guys are aggrivating me. Many of you are commenting on the aesthetics of a piece that was POORLY photographed, not to mention it's off in color, AND IT'S A PROTOTYPE! Once you see the final production version, I'm sure the logo size won't matter because of the color. Like lsd said, it will be less obtrusive once it's black, regardless of the logo size. I'm pretty sure most all of you will take back your comments once you see the final piece.
note to all_bark: some people don't understand that pictures don't capture the true essence of things. Which is ironic because I hear many Z OWNERS say that photos don't do the Z justice. So, for future reference, you are going to have to ask NASA to develop a digital camera for you before you post any pics to the vultures on this forum.

Just curious. For those who have a problem with the logo, whats the problem? You'll never see it. If its cosmetic (ie. show car) wouldn't you have it painted? If so, why not just bondo (or some other method) and have it painted.
I think the only reason i'll have a problem with the logo is if it reduced the plenum's max gains, then it'll be a good reason to do without it.

Well for me it's not just this logo it's any logo. I'm not being paid to advertise. I'm the customer, I'm paying for the product. I agree logos can't be avoided to some extent but most can or at least be minimised. In this case I'm not certain it can be concealed so I won't be rushing to buy anytime soon. That's my choice, I don't expect everyone to agree with me. That's their choice. If someone wants to buy one for me and give it to me that's fine, I'll accept it and see if I can conceal the logo.
This wouldn't be the first product I passed up simple due to logo placement. In fact I even remove the badges from my cars (haven't done the Zed yet).
Having said that I think lsdunique has handled the whole process very well. For those saying he should make multiple versions I think you should look into what that entails and the costs. I used to work for a plastics manufacturer who made moulds etc so I can appreciate the amount of work that's gone into this. I hope he does well with it.

OK, OK....let it be known that I will purchase this plenum when it comes out, regardless of what the logo looks like. For me, I think that the importance of the new plenum offering us better performance by far outweighs the importance of its aesthetics. Sure I may not be particularly fond of the design, but I'll live with it and it will definately not sway my decision whether or not to make the purchase.
I say that lsdunique should make the plenum whichever way he wishes, which looks as if that is already decided. Like apsilon stated, there is no way to please everyone.
On another note, when should we see this thing "hit the shelves"? Can we be put on a pre-order list kinda like our Z's???

Apsilon, clear and logical opinion/choice.
However what amazes me is how you even considered puchasing the Z, given the fact that it's downright soaked in nissan and Z logos. There's countless Z's all over the car...
