Timing Chain Rubbing Sound...?

Timing Chain Rubbing Sound...?
So, the fiance and I went last night and test-drove a 07 350Z Enthusiast (auto). Everything felt great, except for 2 oddball things we noticed.
First, an idler pulley on the front was squeaking. And then, there was some rubbing sound coming from (seems like) behind the driver's side timing chain cover. You can hear it in the video I took, as well as the squeaky idler. This was after the car had been moved (before we arrived at the dealership), but before our test drive. The sound changed with RPM, and went away after the engine was fully warmed up.
We walked away from this one, but I'm really curious if anyone has experienced this sound before, for future reference!

Idler pulley could be as simple as a warn belt. Literal 5 min job only because I dropped my wrench lol
Did you guys check the vin on the motor to see if it matched. IIRC our Z's have Vins on the motor and several other parts ive noticed while working on mine.
Also how many miles are on it?
And Id assume probably in either a crash, bunked driveway job or both. Or maybe even a lemon motor swap. Def sounds like bearing/chain is not happy.

We didn't check to see if the VIN on the block matched, that's a good Idea!
It has 92k, and is still on the dealer's site. My350 mobile is acting funny, but it's the only white 07 at Sutherlin Nissan at Mall of America in Atlanta, GA. I'll link it when I get back toy computer!
Agreed. It had no wrecks show up on Carfax, and has an excellent service history according to it, too, but Carfax is only as good as the info reported to it.

That last comment is an understatement to say the least haha
I bought my 350 project with 52k on the clock from a salvaged auto auction.
According to Carfax AND DMV records show it's still a clean title. No reported accidents. And Only has 37k on the clock.
I had quite the giggle when I read my cars reports. Lol
I'm still holding off on registration because I want to see if somehow I can keep this title clean. A radiator, rad support hood and head lights was all it needed. And a really over due oil and belt change. 3 weeks and im already done with it. 0 frame damage.
All that's left is the head lights/brackets and im done already. My pink (red slip) is a salvaged one aka red instead of pink be blue. So I'm sure as soon as I turn that in the car gets that big S stamp on it. My poor little Z doesn't deserve to be scared as a salvaged the rest of its life

That's the plan. Might be a while tho. I would have been way done by now but I have to scrounge all I got for a last min Hawaii trip with the fam bam and some other life bills.
Not trying to thread jack, but anyone interested can follow my "build" here. Putting up videos of the progress on it.
