Drive an old Fox Body without an IRS swap if you truly want to experience that. Was going around 80ish in one, nothing too crazy, and hit a bump in a corner on a highway and it felt like the rear was going to do a 180.

Broken door handles are a really common issue. Here's a write-up (not that I foresee you tackling this project even though it is extremely easy): https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...placement.html

edit: That person says theirs wont open from outside but will from inside. mines vice versa. when im inside i have to roll down window and grab outside handle

A 370z is nice and im liking them more and more now. Its so strange but i like the 350zs looks, and hate too much technology. I never cared about looks much in my cars but i guess since its a complete different era of bodystyling i do because i support this era. My 2008 evo x was full of technology but it never fought me, and was still the stripped down base and we were able to program the blank buttons that already did nothing on my steering wheel for diff maps and features. I enjoyed that but in general i usually like basic older stuff. and will get raged out over a turn signal simply flashing three times when i already turned it off.

and hell thanksgiving? more like thansgiving after this one or whenever the engine blows its shutdown until i save for someone to build my used engine i order. i guess ill try someone around here but nobody too good, but still a few worthy... theres some even better places 3 hrs away. but until then im going to be putting all my money in it, or towards a car to keep miles off it. may transition to having garage around then too

I may have to take this thing to the shop earlier than planned, to get the battery looked at. The snap on cover snaps into this piece that isnt even screwed on missing all its screws. then the battery itself is not secure. its prob bouncing all over the place. my friend that barely knows cars found that out. We were going to replace the terminals because one was still loose but it had some crazy nissan pack hooked up to it and he said take it to a shop

"Get the battery looked at"?? "Your friend that barely knows cars"?

C'mon, the kettle's already black.

OK, I'm gonna be serious here. I know that "everyone starts somewhere". I certainly wasn't born a genius (and I ain't one now). Laff. But honestly, man, if you can't deal with a battery clamp, you seriously need to take a long hard look at your "budget be damned" plans cuz 75% of it is going to be labor costs. I have NOTHING against paying a shop. I've paid for probably 30% of my mods and fixes on almost every Z (of 8) in the last 10 years. The amount of work done varies by my own time allotments, abilities (I suck at body work), and facilities to do the work properly.

I would STRONGLY suggest you look into a community college auto shop class or somewhere because 75% of $40k is $30k paid to a shop. If that's your preference, more power. Just seems a difficult concept to me to be a modifications enthusiast without doing at least some of the work myself.

Well the cabin wasnt. It had that AWC system that was hella complicated but is prob the only driver assistance technology i didnt hate. vdc on here, and traction control on 2022 challenger i rented not bad. I still would prefer without though

I'm sure that's in the queue right after driving school...

The plastic cover is just that - a cover. The battery tie down keeps the battery secured to the tray underneath it.

Yeah theres no tie down.. I have an appointment monday after work now, to get it looked at. I may even try to wrap something around it and tie it until then

Youre not wrong. Im sure i could learn something. I was trying heel toe a long time ago but i dont... I have size 15 wide feet. I can shift quick though and do some cool stuff. I got the 350z because i lost my 240 when i was first adding power. Most of my drifting down mountain roads with tons of adrenaline was in the evo. it wasnt as exhillirating but ive done that in fwd economy cars manual too.. I scared my ex because i was pissed and ripped the handbrake at like 50 and spun around the opposite direction with tires spinning and took off other way. I miss stuff like that it feels so good when its perfectly clean.

but foreal instead of driving school, im ADD and hate sitting. Im more for watching a quick youtube video of heel to toe, and wanting a track to myself

on the other person saying auto shop class.. I would like to learn but idk about spending my time and money. Maybe i will try something simple on 350z. I think i would attempt more stuff if i had a second car and a lift.

no it was in perfect condition when i sold it. ive been busted 3 times for selling narcotics finally quit all of that. Back then i was knee deep in it, and i thought i had alot of money, then i got screwed in one day and was forced to sell the 240, and stop project. It was my second car (as in i had two cas at the time, i had owned more than two in life) and a babied garaged kouki bone stock when i got it..

Unsure if you have the capacity to learn from any of this however this specific comment right there explains this thread.

You may want to dial it back on the oversharing if you want to avoid some heat and have people take you serious. You took some really shitty life choices that you say you have learned from however just because we're doing "better" than before doesnt mean that we're doing better overall.

Sounds like there's residue from **** decisions from the drug world still lingering around just now into cars because it's in a lower heat level legally. Your mind is still in that dope boy mode. You have an unrealistic goal with the car, one that will NEVER make you happy because of the inability to understand the repercussion of these bad choices.

This sounds like it's your daily on top of that, so unless we're still slinging you aint catching up with those payments any time soon. It sounds negative but it's because this is a negative situation being forced into a positive one.

When you come back from the slums which is always risk/ life or death, you enter the rest of the world with less fear of the unknown, take more riskier choices because you survived the most riskiest.

You complain of having no money but you get $10k and spend it all on a sad 350z in recovery from sex addiction. So no money again, we get another $5k and we're now spending it on BS.

Your choices left you broke, you got the chance to come out of it and you head ***** first into debt again. Eventually we will see this thread end from insufficient funds.

If we're still here then we're still slinging. mathematically is not possible to come back from these choices unless luck or drug dealing.

Good luck out there dude!

It may be a bad decision but def dont plan on ever "slinging" again, and im almost a full blown electrician, at the end of apprenticeship. Cost of living is kind of cheap for me rn too. I am still feeling the struggle though! Now im having battery looked at, and theyre going to move me again next week to a further commute.. I think after i smash this loan, ill save for a second car forsure. Im not far in debt, and i think it can work, it is really hard rn.

I havent had a fast car in almost a decade. I still dont have one but atleast i have a goal or light at the end of the tunnel. What you call bad decisions, I call following my dreams. I want these control arms so bad, I may try and work in a kitchen on Sunday for extra $.

We already went over all this. Let us enjoy our content dammit!

Said it before said it again....at least he doesn't get mad at getting flamed. He may learn the hard way with this going against all our advice but live and learn. Hopefully that won't be the case though.

Thanksgiving is coming in a few months either way so we will see what happens if its running then.

Stop buying unnecessary parts if you are saying you want to save up for another car. It's going to be one or the other based on the way your history here has shown. Focus on what you need first until you get settled in with your finances.

You really need to focus on that last sentence and sit down and make an actual plan or stop impulse buying. Debt and financial issues (bad credit, etc) can be VERY difficult to clear yourself from. Cut that out of the picture before its too late and you are in a race from behind.

Dave Ramsey would be proud.

Post up some pics of your Z. I think it's a travesty this thread has gotten so much attention and we don't even have any actual pictures of it.
