ive got this man. It is stressful because other things on car could fail and i prob shouldnt ride it tight. I may even go for 5 or 6 weeks or something, and maybe even make some loan payments, and get it to a much lower number, but still buy parts before its paid off.

Regardless though, even if i pay entire loan off first, im going for these parts soon..

btw, the shop installing b12 doesnt do alignments. and with the 2 inch drop, the car cannot be aligned properly without the arms. So my question is, should i take it to a normal non-specialty alignment shop? So that i can have it in a little better alignment for the 2000 miles i drive on edge of tires? I mean i should get some kind of temporary alignment right? My commute got shorter which is a blessing

2” drop? Bilstein B12? Where’d you get that info? B12 allegedly lowers a Z car 1.2”. More like 1” after the shocks are unstrapped. I ran these then after giving away the shocks, replaced with Koni Sports. Net result 19mm drop. All way less than 2”.

Stop trying to do things until you’re ready to do them properly

the car is bottoming out and scraping itself and needed something.. and i planned on getting good suspension parts soonish anyways. Im putting my exhaust on and all and dude said the bottoming out could scrape a hole. So i needed the b12 on now and dont have the arms yet. but i wont be driving hard yet

LMAO. You don't need to drive "hard" for incorrect camber/caster/toe to shred your tires.

I would have complete faith in a shop to do my suspension work that doesn't do alignments. Good call.

lol they are a good shop that does alot of work and drops alot of engines and transmissions in and all. I dont think they will have a problem throwing my shocks and springs on to solve the bottoming out. They are not a performance shop, which maybe ill goto once i get all the strange arms and parts. Do u think ill atleast get half the miles off the tires? Do u reccommend a basic alignment after just the shocks and springs no arms yet? because im dedicated now to riding like this for weeks.

just for the lols i might have to show off all the rust removal stuff i got. i need to safely jack it somehow tho or get some real good ramps.

Please keep posting. I love this thread. You are a good sport about everything. Basic ramps or even diy made out of wood are fine, but since you are a baller - race ramps or nothing

Youre very right i bought a bad car. The brakes are screwed up too i think but waiting on that i guess. I also just realized the exhaust i got is catback, and idk how far back the redneck looking exhaust goes. But i may need more parts to replace it, and I dropped it at the place and told them to replace the exhaust when they start working on it next week. However, the only 2 good 350zs near me were flakey. and this is low mileage on body and manual still 78k miles. So maybe i still seized my last chance at getting a 350 and can enjoy it. even if a c5 z06 would have delivered more performance value vs dumping money in screwed up z.

Man to be honest...you should have jumped on the c5z.

My first vette was a c6z and put down 500whp, current c7 puts down 533whp, but cost me $9k to get there

The reason is dumped my 08 350z is because I was taped on making it faster without going f/i

I know. I really like the c5 z06. I never liked the looks but have never been one to care about looks. If the z was pink and green i wouldve still bought it. Ive always loved the zs looks, and it has an allure to me. I almost feel like the vette is too exotic looking. I feel like cops would see me as more of a threat, when in the z they will see me as a dumb tuner kid still. The z would have been more of a bargain back when there were some in better condition for 6500. I hope to maybe save and literally spend 10k on next engine and have it built. Then small twin turbos. If the twin turbos add weight, i may add weight to rear. I understand adding weight is a crime and people gut their trunks. But I want to keep weight 53/47 or even 52/48. Which may be difficult if i twin turbo.

Main reason i didnt go c5 z06 is i was done paying full collision. If i wreck i wouldnt even want to report it and have insurance go up. I would have had to put 10k dollars of z06 on loan w collision until its paid, and interest on loan. This part loan mostly interest free. Im not really saving money though after i dump it all in z

which btw guys i really do need help here. The tomei y-pipe and straight pipes for 2003 350z are 1900 dollars combined. While theyre titanium and save weight up front where it matters the most, im looking for something cheaper maybe because i want this redneck exhaust off asap. I already have a tomei exhaust with mainpipe sections a and b. I believe i still needed the y pipe and straight pipes to go atw back to headers. Im worried if i dont go all tomei it wont fit to my tomei.

I use Borla on pretty much every car I buy. Sounds good, million mile warranty and fitment is always spot on.

so theres a borla y pipe and straight pipe, that are seperate products, and would mate to my tomei exhaust? my tomei goes back to the y pipe and thats it im pretty sure.. and the borla would be cheaper than tomei i assume

My friend had the Borla catback on his Z. Sound was ok... barely louder than stock, which was fine. But man, that thing was a PITA to remove when we did his rear diff bushings and suspension. Those slip joints were about annoying to get apart.
