Default Oil pressure on 2008HR

Car only has 26000 miles, oil change done at 25k and oil level is fine.

At 2k rpm, oil psi is about 60, after 4.5k rpm it gets close to 120, maybe around 110-115 psi.

Warm idle seems fine, less than 30psi, maybe 25 or so.

Should I be worried? To be safe I made appointment to take it in on Monday.

Thank you

Yep. Looks normal.

Cancel the appointment. Unless you don't like money and time.

I dont undersrand. This shows my readings are high. For example 2000 rpm im closer ro 60 psi, not 43.

Is it normal to grt to almost 120psi ? Thats where I get over 4.5k rpm

Everywhere I read says an HR can get as high as 90psi wheb enginr is cold but should drop once warm. They all say consistently over that is bad

Those are the minimum values. That's why it says MORE THAN.

Yes but theres also a maximum safe range you want to be In and when I look online it says rarely over 90psi. I almost always above that under acceleration

I wasnt trying to be rude, its just that youve given me mimimum oil pressure (which is very helpful, thanks) but I'm worried about MAXIMUM safe oil pressure. Of course theses a safe upper limit and I'm just trying to figure out what that is

If you run thicker oil (like a 40 weight), you will get higher pressure than stated in the manual. Also take into consideration that it takes 10-15min of driving (not idling) to fully warm up the oil and pressure readings to normalize. If you're making a lot of short distance trips, then you will always see high pressure readings.

That being said, it's not unheard of for oil pressure senders to give faulty readings. Usually on an HR equipped Z, you will suffer from low oil pressure problems due to the gallery gasket failure behind the front timing cover.

Based on the readings you've given, you should be fine. It's normal to see 90-120psi under even light to moderate acceleration when the engine is still warming up. I don't know what the upper limit is, but so long as you aren't blocking your PCV system or over-filling the crankcase, you should be fine.
Cheers!

When you're at those pressures, you're jeopardizing the flux capacitor. You might only make it to 1997. Or worse, only return to 2016.
