redline350ZZ, does your tilton act the same everyday. Mine seems to react different from day to day. some days I can drive with no problems, and the next day I can't get the car not to stall. I can get the car to start out at around 1500 rpms but somtimes I can rev it to 5000 rpms and still stall.

I'm wondering if this isn't a driver thing, rather than a temperamental clutch. I personally have days where I can't seem to drive a stock clutch smoothly, no matter how hard I try. Just something in my brain is out of whack on that day for whatever reason. Being that the Tilton is *so* difficult, I can see little differences in mental reaction from one day to another being amplified with the Tilton.

I wouldnt think the tilton setup would stall @ 5k rpms from a stop, I'd suspect you'd burnout at that point. Wonder if you have something mechanically wrong...

I think it does have alot to do with the driver. But some of the things the car does is kinda odd. like stalling at high rpms, or the jerking when shifting into 2nd to 5th. Either way, the ceramametalic tilton is WAY to hard to drive day to day for me. I hate that now I always have to think about where I'm going to drive. Like if there is any stops on hills or if there will be alot of stop and go traffic. Don't want to hold up traffic or get rearended from stalling.

This is my first manual car before this i have only had minimal practice on friends cars that were unable to drive sometimes...DRINK...DRINK....hehe..... I only have a slight problem with first gear but after that all is good u know..... I have no problem with any other gear I can drive to the point that my riders dont notice anything... and my G/F is very tempermental...LOL somedays I have more problems than others....sometimes my tranny hates me from all the jerking and studdering and yes I do stall out but hey I guess thats the cost of this part...... I have been lucky though because I still have a few more months before I ship my car back to HAWAII and there is some crazy traffic there.... So I would say lovetoclown maybe went a little to far with LSD at the same time too.... but thats just my assumption.....maybe we crazy car modders should just do one extreme part first then take some time to adjust..... Im not sure how extreme a LSD effects the car but I have heard some stories...... I have not tried out launching yet im gonna give it a little more time..... atleast till I get some new tires but as long as I dont damage anything from the sometimes brutal starts Im gonna leave these parts in......and then add some NOS.....Id hate to see the wheel spin with a turbo or super/C so maybe NOS in second will do just fine..... my ECU goes off to TS in september too so those extra RPM should really be beneficial

Is it just me or is it way easier to go into reverse than forward? I mean if starting out in first was like going in reverse, I would never stall. Wondering if it was just me.

I may as well tell all of you...

It would happen when you were on the track... Why...

Whoever installed your Borla Headers installed them with the paper gaskets that came withthem that go between the Header and Cat. Those blew out... While on the track and being in the HIGH RPM's your car was HOT, and blowing out extra HOT EXHAUST out of the leak where your gaskets used to be. On the drivers side rite next to that is your clutch line, Long story short, the extra heat melted off the protective coating from your clutch line and while on the track it caused your clutch fluid to boil and that is why your clutch pedal would not come back up. Even though your clutch / discs / flywheel were over heated and cracked they were still functioning properly but were severly worn, the TILTON is not the reason for your clutch pedal not coming up from the ground...

Those of you getting headers installed... Make sure they use the factory gaskets... they are best... for the Header - Cat ...

... and install heat-wrap around key components... i.e. clutch lines, brake-lines, etc.

We have seen several cars, header equipped... under hard driving experience the clutch bottoming out.

Jason@Performance

How long did it take for the clutch problem to occur??? heating, cracking and them being severly worn??
