Head gasket and port polish/valve job
Hey everybody. How are you doing?
I was wondering how thick our current head gaskets are? If they are thick, can we replace them with gaskets that are thinner and stornger? Do the nismo gaskets raise the compression? Can they be used with stock heads?
My other question was about port and polish? How much should it cost? Portflow charges 900 bucks for a 4 cylinder, I know one of the guys at performance nissan has had a port and polish done, I think it's the orange car.
I was also wondering if you guys new the name of the type of valve job that is one step above 6 angle, its like countiucous or something?
Do you guys know of any shop that just does head work on 350z's. AEBS can probably do it with some T sleves and pistons while they're at it. HEHE. But I am probably leaing towards port, polish, cams , vavlejob, and rod bolts. Then A low psi forced induction kit, maybe low compression pistions.

They guys at performance did the port/polish and didnt gain a single thing in terms of power, I believe. They also tried the nismo heads and didnt gain anything.

It costs $3500 for 1mm larger valves, stronger springs, retainers, shims, and locks along with ported and polished heads, intake, intake runner, and head gasket set.
Ferrea sells a whole valve kit for about $1600
The company i got it done at charged me $1000 for the port and polish. You are correct instead of the factory 3 to 5 angle i had the shop put that valves in at a radius cut.
If you want more info please pm me.
Thanks Glen

I did not dyno yet im going to soon. My gas miles have gone down and my exhaust is louder also. The car pulls like a monster in all the gears, but did it gain power im not sure. It feels like it has, but dont forget my car had timing chain problems after the cam install. I know i gained power down low, because i can feel it pulling harder then it did before.
Thanks Glen
