Far as I know but the only issue would be that the silky components come two ways, v band and slip in. I'd personally opt for the viand and mod the y pipe from flange to vband.

I am anxious to get started saving after I address my exterior.

Made some headway today... For those doing the master cylinder swap on the T56, you will need a 1/8" punch to remove the roll pin on the trans slave cylinder. You can get the punches and roll pins at harbor freight for appx $5 each. DO NOT buy the arbor press, you don't need it and the punch won't fit... I now have a press

I spoke with Frank Smith from Hills and my ViPEC guy Franz today and both do NOT recommend keeping the VQ accessories. They said the LS will be easier to work with as is. Frank Smith suggested the Painless harness as an option as others have said.

So it's best for us to use the LS's ac and power steering stuff? What is this painless harness you speak of?

They both said that would be the easiest and cheapest route, rather than fitting the VQ components.

Painless... I thought someone already posted about this:

http://www.painlessperformance.com/w...rchField=60521

I spoke to Franz Diebold today. He is my ViPEC guy and makes custom harnesses for race teams as well. I am going to ship him my spare cluster and he will see if he can find a method of driving the stepper motor in the tach that circumvents the Nissan can-bus system. This will take some time because he is moving over the next week or two.

So what harness would I be looking at for just a stock LS1 with mechanical throttle?

Heres some good news for you, 241's and 853's are the same ****. And actually the 853's are .67 cc more than the 241's. They have different casting processes, 853's are sand and 241's are mold or whatever. From the factory the 241's have a SLIGHT and i mean SLIGHT better flow but after porting they are identical. Buy 243's or 799's before you get ported 241's. Everyone knocks the 853's but the differences are so minute that its irrelevant to power. I'm trying to find the write up about them being tested side by side and the cad drawings being compared and all that jive. LQ9 head for next year maybe.

What is everyone doing about the fuel line connection and pump? I'm thinking a single walbro in the tank, but the fuel system I have is set for dual lines and a return. Looking for ideas...

I believe the reason the 853's are not preferable is because there is less material in the internal passages so you can't port them as aggressively without breaking through. Other than that, stock for stock they are darn close as you mentioned.

i have an aftermarket fuel rail. so im using my sp triple pump with 3 -6an lines/fittings going to a distribution block, a -10 fuel filter and -10 lin to the rail. the other rail goes to the fpr, and the bottom of the fpr is a -6 return line back to the tank.

Is the -6an large enough for the return line?

There is already like five or six different build threads out there from various members including myself. There are also a two or three build threads by people who tried to fab all the components for the swap themselves like I did.
