Would like to see that for sure! Unfortunately I'll be revving higher than Z tach so I'm thinking of retrofitting probaby a Defi Tach to the Z cluster. Keep us up to date on the tach though. That would be awesome for others wanting that function.

Also, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter which trans you used, more so just where the engine sits in the bay. Just let me know man.

You can use the 07-08 tachometer since it revs up to 9k rpm.

Didn't think of that. Please keep me updated on the tach situation.

Update.

I'm thinking about canceling this project and sell the 2jz engine and instal a stock one. I found a very clean and cheap 2001 Lexus IS that has a 2jzgte engine and a R154 transmission among other bolt-ons and I'm thinking about buying it.

That would be a wise decision. The IS300 cars respond well to boost. Plus proefi has a solution fpr those cars. There is one local to me for 12.5k. Pretty decent condition.

??

He said it's a 2001 IS engine. IS-F didn't come out until 2007 and it's a v8.

Oh I know. I'm more of an IS fan in general. I like the older IS's as they have FI solutions where as all the ISx50/and IS-F don't have any finished solutions yet.

The IS 300 put down around 370whp. It only has an exhaust, intercooler and radiator.

Nice! How's the power delivery? What else are you planning to do to it?

I still don't have the car yet. I will probably go single and shot for 600whp down the road.

I sold the VVTI engine and bought a GTE one and sold it too to a friend that needed it.lol

Money was tight and I kept changing my mind. The Z is in the shop for about two years now.

I'm about to pick up another 2JZ-GTE + R54 Tranny. The rest of the set up:

1-PT6766 turbo
2-AEM V2 EMS
3-Injectors + fuel rails
4-HKS cam gears
5-Downpipe and exhaust manifold.
6-Intercooler and pipes.
7-OS Giken triple clutch.
I will buy the whole set up just to make thing easier and faster.

Also, I didn't get the IS300.

I will keep the cams stock for now. Because I'm gonna use the car as daily driver for the moment.

Makes sense. Although even slightly better GSC S1 cams can be run by the stock ecu and will make a noticeable difference with the stock turbo's. They say supra cams are superior to Aristo cams but yeah would be costly and pointless if you know ur eventually gonna go with S3's or whatever cam you have your eye's on. Doing a swap myself on a SC300 so i'm checking on swap threads across like 4 forums lol just soaking up info.
