what manifold are you using? is anyone running megasquirt 3?
I wonder what he was doing to break them? The stock driveshaft is very strong and the rear axles aren't the best but if driven properly will hold up to some decent abuse (I ran 9's on them).

The CD009 handled 1250whp in SP shop car and did low 9's in different Z's.

I don't know about the manifold brand since I will buy the whole set up together.

I have no idea about the megasquirt 3. I will get the AEM V2, but I'm thinking about switching to Haltech 2000 because I'm already use to the Haltech Manager.

anyone? really wondering about the mounts.

update: i sold my single turbo kit today and now have 3800 cash, ive already bought the aem v2. so 2100 is going towards my 2jzgte with r154 but im selling the r154 and using that money towards the kit.

the guy who bought my turbo kit also gave me his full ARK v2 exhaust. its in great condition and he said it was less than 4k miles with it on. ill prolly end up selling that and using the money towards my build since ill be using 4in all the way

If you're going to install the OEM Z transmission then the only way I see it is to fabricate your own engine mounts. All the aftermarket ones are meant to be installed with the R154/V160.

Using the 350z trans with the Collins adaptor and the shifter shortened as far as it will go there's no need for engine mounts because the stock 2jz mounts drop right into place.

I'm doing a 2jz-gte with the collins adaptor in my g35 as we speek. Bolted right in and the trans mount was pretty easy to make as well.

How does the engine sit with oem 2jz mounts? Just because they fit doesn't mean the engine sits correctly.

I and few others have used custom mounts. Just because they fit, doesn't mean they work. Just keep an eye on it when you install them.

You can buy it here:

I put a level on it and it lined right up. I've seen other people running the same setup. If using the 6mt you can't go back any further because of the shifter. I'm kinda new to the site so as soon as I figure things out ill post some pics.

That's pretty cool. I was talking more on the placement of the engine itself. I'm not using the VQ trans, so none of those would do me any good unfortunately.

Ya with any other trans custom mounts would be needed.

a few post above i believe you mentioned you need to modify the trans mount. would love to see pics of the trans mount and the placement of the engine in the engine bay. which collins kit did you go with? i know there is 2 options one of which requires you to mil down the bell some for proper inputshaft placement and or use a flywheel spacer. The other doesnt allow much for clutch options. thank you for giving this a good go.

sorry if i asked a question that has already been answered.

I'll post some pics later when I'm off work. I went with the kit that uses the flywheel spacer because I want to run a triple disk. Brett assured me that's what he runs on his race car at 400whp with no problems.

Yes pictures please. IMO its odd to want to shorten the shifter assy. Seems like if you are putting everything in place to bolt the 2J to the stock transmission you would want everything after the bellhousing to be in its factory location. Is it a requirement to modify the shifter to get proper engine placement? if you are infact moving the trans further back then i assume you have already figured out what you need for a driveshaft? this may be a stupid comment but would relocating the trans further back create a problem for the clutch activation assy?

i am glad you are going to prove this possibility one way or the other. i have spoke to brett as well and he seems very intelligent. i would make certain the spacer for the flywheel was up to more in the neighborhood of 600 hp reliability maybe more. the guys in my area are making alot of power with the 2jz.
