Do you think if I shave the housing a lil and weld the plate to it will clear the fans?

Ohh that's right ur running the setup that requires shaving bell housing correct? Which will give you another 5/8 inch. Should work but you will have to push motor back another 5/8 and require some motor mount mods. Maybe just re slot the crasmember.

I will fabrication my own plate.

I'm still waiting for the exhaust manifold and head gasket/ARP studs to arrive before I start fitting the engine in.

Engine to trans plate.

I always thought about making a custom core support. Will give more room and you can use the biggest radiator out there without losing the A/C condenser.

I'm thinking about installing the VQ coils since they have their own igniter and better/newer the the OEM 2jz ones. Someone did it before, but I can't find his thread build or pics.

Also thinking about removing the ugly amber reflectors and installing the oil cooler and steering cooler behind the openings.

Ok so I bought that aem v2 on eBay. And it was never sent. Got my money back from Paypal. Thank God. The motor is out of my 350z. I have the 2j in my possession.

Now I'm trying to decide what to do about ems. I called dynasty. And they said for 3k and change. They can make me a custom haltech 2000 with all the sensors, wideband, and everything. Kinda like what you got graffkid. Trying to figure out if I should just get a safc for now while I break in engine and turbo or if to go with a megasquirt 3 new for 1000.

Also I'm still kinda on the fence about the Collins adapter. How's yours coming 3fid?

Also what are you guys doing about the drive by wire. I saw that someone is using a s14 pedal and making it work

Another option as opposed to SAFC might be MAPECU but not sure how this would on ur setup:

http://www.suprastore.com/mapecu.html

Note:

What kinds of cars, and how many do you know of that use the MAP ECU successfully? TONS!!! It works great on most all motors and is highly capable for the 7MGTE, 1JZGTE and 2JZGTE engines, whether in the original car or swapped.

Wow. Ok. I guess that's another option. But it's 800. The safc is about 200 on eBay. I'm not sure as what I want. Well. I know what I want but it's not attainable right now lol

It all depends on your budget, setup and power goal.

Even though i got the AEM V2, I wish i went with the Syvecs S6 or atleast the Haltech 2000.

As the pedal, you can weld the throttle wire to your OEM pedal. I like the aluminum Z pedal.

Well. I think I'm going to stay with the 440cc injectors for now. Use the safc neo. And break in the turbo. Once I have the 3.5k. Ill call dynasty to make my haltech.

So weld the throttle cable to the stock gas pedal. Ok. Anyone figure out the stock tach. I will eventually get a new Z speedo from an hr for the higher rev numbers. I'm actually pulling my motor out of my as I type this.

I'm still trying to get a hold of the guy who made the stock tach work. I want him to do all of the wiring since he had done the swap before.
He said something like the Z tach is using less voltage than 2JZGTE signal. IIRC.

Yea. I believe we have to use a Dakota box to change the signal

I don't think the Dakota box will work.

I think if you use the Z flywheel then the tach should work since it where the ECU reads the crankshaft signal and converts it to a tach signal through the CAN BUS system.

Haven't been out in the garage for a while. Won't know how all the Collins parts work till I get the car together and some road miles on it. If It was up to me I'd be running the supra 6speed but not worth the 4.5k to me. Ant the r154 I hear is like dragging a rod through a box of rocks. So that leaves the Collins adaptor. Well and the solstice turbo trans bolts right up to the 2jz bell housing and a little machining to the output shaft and you have yourself another option. From what I hear there strong. Driftmotion offers this option.

I'm so scared to use the Collins adapter. So if I use the Collins adapter I won't be able to just drop the 2j in to the stock mounts

Someone mad the Tachometer work in the Subaru BRZ after installing a LS2 engine.

The Subaru uses a CAN BUS just like Nissan and the Tachometer gets its signal from the crankshaft sensor.

Both the tach and the EPS are controlled via the CANBUS from the crankshaft position signal. We replicated the signal by machining the Subaru timing gear wheel into the front of the GM harmonic balancer and made a bracket to support the Subaru sensor to look at the wheel.
I wonder if it will work in the Z if I machine the VQ timing ring into the 2JZGTE Flywheel and use the Z crankshaft sensor!!

In theory, it should also work to any engine swap in the Z.

Can anyone confirm that the hr cluster works in a 03? I'd be interested for the higher tach
