I just ordered some M8 1.25M 120MM lengthen studs and lock nuts for the intake manifold, I should get them by late September(from china). I Also ordered a thermostat housing from rock auto.

Drag raced the 350z tonight, best time was 14.9 with a .789 reaction time....lol I was blowing clouds of smoke out the back lmao, I wanted to get a base line time before the swap.

So I spoke with the guy building my turbo he will be sending me an invoice over the next few days, I should have it in about 6 weeks or so.

Also I ordered a clear timing cover for the 1.5jz, some studs and nuts for the manifolds(wont be here until Sep 30th).

After I get the turbo I can't really proceed with the build until I get the 1.5jz in the car, so we can figure out how we are gonna manage to fit 2 gates and the down pipe in there.

Some good news I have the invoice for the turbo, now the payments start :P here is the turbo SR/61 Billet/Ball bearing 61mm turbocharger w/ 1.06 A/R T3 Turbine.

I also picked up an A/C pump now I gotta figure out what bolts I need to mount the pump/compressor.

Unfortunately the top mount reservoir for the power steering doesn't fit.

The throttle linkage hits on it, also where the return line is it hits on the manifold not allowing it to be tight with the block.

I am really hoping this manifold fits because I didn't measure it.

So I decided since my insurance needs to be renewed, I will be taking the 350z off the road as of September 6th.

My plan has changed with the build. I was suppose to be doing it at my friends garage, but he runs a business out of there.

Basically this build is going to take a while to come together and he doesn't have storage for my car.

So with that in mind I contacted my best friend and we are probably going to use his shop in his backyard for the build.

I will find out more tomorrow(He just confirmed it's a go), if it pans out I will be helping him clean it out on Saturday(After UFC of course!).

In exchanged for lending me his shop for a couple months, I have to change his clutch in his 370Z (which I don't mind doing).

Also the turbo is a Quarter paid off already, can't wait it's a gt35R turbine shaft with a 61 billet compressor wheel 1.06AR.

haha yeah it's not the smartest idea.

I managed to get everything disconnected on the motor, I cannot for the life of my get the cats off the down pipe(y pipe came off no problem). I think it might be sawzaw time, the bolts are beyond seized, I tried an impact with a bunch of extensions and no luck.

I pulled my fuel pump hanger out today and found out why my gas gauge isn't reading full ever, one of the springs were broken off the sending unit that hold the bucket on the bottom of the hanger. So now I have to look for a new fuel sending unit/pump hanger, or an auto wrecker one.

Engine should be out in the next couple days, then I can decrease and clean the bay. I also need to remove the old power steering lines, run the new clutch line. I will not be doing a wire tuck as I want everything accessible if need be.

After I clean the bay I will start to assemble trans to engine and hopefully mount it at some point this month. I need measurements for the downpipe/Wastegate position, for the guy building the turbo/manifold/downpipe

Also my welder buddy is gonna give me a hand welding up the Intercooler pipes, water outlet / Radiator.

It all should go together fairly quick and simple.

I will try and get some pics tomorrow.

Man the VQ was fighting me but I managed to get the f-ing thing out.

It's also tough doing it by yourself, having another hand would have helped.

Trans was also removed from engine didnt get any pictures as it was pitch black out by the time I finished.

Ragg - is your setup a 6mt or auto? Do you have any plans for your engine wire harness (assuming it's an 6mt)?

Hey it's a 6speed manual. I have a plug and play wiring specialties harness for a 350z 1.5jz, sitting in my closet and a link g4+ storm ecu.

Engine bay all cleaned up.

Some bad news I lost the linkage for the Collins shifter, I've been tearing the house apart looking for it. I had it I put it back in the box but idk where it went.

I was hoping to get the engine in this weekend, oh well **** happens I guess.

while your engine is out and if you want to eliminate the secondary/false firewall - now would be an excellent time. I blitzed mine and I wish I would have done it sooner!

So I managed to get the shifter, throw out bearing and pilot bushing installed.

I ran into a bit of a problem with the adapter plate, it's missing 2 allen bolts and the hardware store was closed, so I called it a night.

One other fixable problem is the bottom bolt on the left side of the sump pan doesn't line up correctly on the adapter plate.

The bolt that is hanging out in the pictures is the one that doesn't fit it needs to be drilled out some more.

nice pics -
yea - stuff gets forgotten. Are the hex bolts you need OEM? I have a few sets of transmission hardware I'd be more than happy to send you the missing bolts (if they are OEM and/or if you want OEM) - no charge if you want them.

a small time-hiccup I had was the 8 bolts that hold the flywheel to the engine. I initially ordered the ARP hardware and they did not fit within the JWT flywheel and I was forced to use OEM / star-head hardware. I tried picking them up from Nissan and it was a week or so out and I didn't want to wait ... so I put my original bolts back in (and not that anything was wrong with my original hardware - I just wanted a fresh set). So the next time my transmission is out I will be putting new OEM bolts in.

So if you are anticipating putting new hardware in I'd get them on order pretty quick.

Hey sorry, I was tired last night it's actually the allen bolts for the adapter plate I need(12mm by 1.25 allen bolts). I called collins this morning he is having them rush shipped to me(already have the tracking #) The tracking number says it will be here on Monday.

Thanks for offering though much appreciated!
