Default Hard to see at night??

I was wondering if anyone has had trouble seeing with the stock HIDs of the Z. I don't know if it is just me but sometimes it is just really hard to see anything and I am forced to put on the highbeams. Has anyone installed driving lights or anything to improve visibility at night. The stock HIDs just seem not to be that great to me. Thanks.

i used to have 93 300zx and now i have 03 z now and both cars i had/have issue of visibility at night. i thought only i have that issue but i guess not.
im having hardtime seeing at night with stock hid. and rainy day is worst. not really bright light + reflection from rain on the ground is worst combination.

easy fix. goto home depot and by a 8inch long phillips screwdriver. if you look down inside, behind the headlight housing you will see a small gear. stick the screw driver down in there and aim the headlights up a little bit. mine are perfect, and i havent been flashed by a single person in the 3 months i've had them aimed higher. search the forums, i know there is a thread on this subject with a DIY write up.

The headlights come aimed very low from the factory so it's best to adjust them up a little bit.

FOUND IT!

Use that DIY, and you will never need anything else. It works great. I think i have mine right at 28" for the passenger and 27" for the driver side. Remember, our headlights have a step in the cut off shield to keep from blinding people coming towards you. You always want to aim the driver's side down a small amount more than the passenger.

I couldn't do that...I like symmetry. LOL
That would drive me insane!

It would look unsymmetrical then when you're sitting in your car.

you really won't notice the difference if you aim the driver's side down say, 1/2 inch if you park 20 feet away from a wall. its perfect, but hey, i don't have to drive toward you guys at night, so whatever!

i've been needing to do this for awhile...will try it tomorrow. So we are just turning the gear with the screw driver then, as opposed to tightening/loosening a screw?
